imo, the incest thing is mainly to keep the bloodline from mixing and producing retarded or deformed offspring, so as long as they don’t have kids, it shouldn’t be a problem. As for emotion go, their practically strangers when they started traveling together. If it’s incest with a close cousin that you grew up with, then it’s really creepy. Same thing how i hate movies/series that have incest relationship between brother and sister growing up.
Also the chances of deformation is a lot lower if it’s between first cousins compared to siblings (around 1-4%). Plus in some cultures, first cousin marriages were actually preferred (though I wouldn’t recommend doing it more than once). It probably benefits clans to have more variation in their gene pool though, especially in the case of netting allegiances between clans, so I don’t think they would have that much in-family marriages.
