  1. Why did the”Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew” in Chapter 70 suddenly change to “Penetrating Gaze Begonia” instead?

      • I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the translation, it seems like the author changed the name. Maybe the author forgot what he called it…

        • I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the translation either, what I meant is that Bagelson maybe found a translation that he feels like it would fit more than the earlier translation of that flower.

  11. This kind of story is why I really struggled (though failed), to learn different languages. It infuriates me that there is an entire WORLD of literature, history, and just… information, out there that I will never have access to except in the brief times we get an awesome translator willing to do this kind of work.

Thanks again for the chapter, never thought I would enjoy a battle novel this much. 🙂

  12. So does this mean tang’s spirit level is over 80 now – ‘ordinary spiritil doulou’
In the manhua its like 54 at this point isnt it?

    • His “mental level”/spiritual force is on par with a Spirit Douluo.
His spirit Power/” spirit ring level” is still only 40 something.

  13. I’m wondering, what Spirit Bone do people think is more useful? The Wisdom Bone or the Spider Lance?

While for Tang San, the Wisdom Bone is more useful, he is an unusual exception. He has the Purple Demon Eye & his Spirit Force was waaaaay above his level, so that combination was beyond amazing.

But lets look. Spider lance allows for 6 other Spirit Bones, high level offence and movement power (making one similar to an Agility Spirit Master), has corrosive poison and grants resistance to other poisons, can absorb another’s life force and Spirit Power, strengthens the body and makes difficult terrain easier to navigate through.

The Wisdom bone makes one smarter, can help improve spirit force and has some ocular powers (and we can’t exactly be sure what, since the Purple Demon Eye was influencing the thing, but it is still probably powerful). It also seems to give higher level senses and sensing abilities and speeds up cultivation.

So which one do people think is more useful?

    Like

    • Well, the Eight Spider Lances were only from a 2k year spirit beast, later improved by a 6k year. The skull was from a 60k year beast. The skull will be more powerful until Tang San can absorb some more Man Faced Demon Spiders.

    • For me they are both really usefull, one boost his vision + give him a new form of attack with his eyes: mental + physical. The other boost strenght, agility, spirit essence and give him additionnal limbs + super effective poison.

But if you want me to choose one, i would say the Eight Spider Lances reasons are:
      1. It’s a treasure for spirit master even more than regular spirit bones and it’s part of his body so he can’t lose it and no one can ever have it
      2. It can EVOLVE, isn’t that super op ?
      3. Do you think he would have survived for sooooo long if he had the Wisdom Spirit Bone ? I think not. There were many situations where the defence boost from the Eight Spider Lances were necessary. The best exemple is the finals. Even if he had the Purple God Light attack, he would have lost to the created ability of Xie Yue that’s for sure.

No offence, good day and THANK YOU Bagelson 🙂

      • Actually he mentioned that he had trouble with the created ability of Xie Yue precisely due to his lack of a burst attack, which purple god light would have provided.

        Like

      • Well I think specific situations aren’t good cause he could have held off spirt hall with Spirit Force and in the end, his eye sight wpuld also have major improvements. His spirit power would also have been higher and his intelligence would have been higher.

And the only way people could steal the head bone is by killing him an they’d have killed him for the lance anyways.

Sorry. Just wanted to argue some of your points but your points were also great.

        Thanks for your opinion XD

    • Given the previous challenges faced? The lances.
Going forwards? The spirit bone. The wisdom alone saves training time. Time that can be spent doing more cultivation, learning more techniques. The attack power of the bone would not have saved him against the dangers he has overcome, like the 70+ people trying to kill him, who could have warded off its attack with their own powers. The ability to endure the attacks he has already faced has been aided greatly by the lances.
I expect that the use of the lances will be less dramatic as he levels, because poison is less and less powerful then raw might at higher levels, and physical assaults less telling, it comes down to spirit power and uses in the end. But without that poison, he wouldn’t even have the spirit bone at this point.
Using a lesser treasure to obtain a greater one is part and parcel of a story. This is simply more leverage to exploit on his career, and another way to accelerate his cultivation levels to where he needs to be to withstand his enemies, overcome them, and change the world.

      • Well, the lance can upgrade and get stronger. And the head bones could have been useful in the past. Againt many opponents, he used hidden weapons. They would have been useful when he used spirit force and he would have cultivated much faster and been ahead.

And the poison of the lance would be useful even later.

Just a few arguments XD thanks for your opinion.

    • I think normally you would think the wisdom bone: it makes his mental processing power way more effective, gives him an impressive attack, and seems to give him almost omnipresent awareness. The spider-lances on the other hand give him durability, agility, and attack power. The wisdom bone gives him a power boost that’s larger than the lances, but the lances can increase in power as Tang San does, but the wisdom bone is near the peak age a spirit bone will be.

However, the lances hold a miniscule edge for two reasons in my mind: Tang is already extremely prepared, and the lances are extremely potent if they make contact. They are a certain kill with the poison regardless of the opponent and can even steal life force to give Tang a permanent bonus. So the lances are a better item to have while growing.

      • It seems everyone who answered this voted for the lance.

The head bone helps improve spirit power and if he got it as a kid he’d have improved faster and Spirit force would have been a great hidden weapon.

        Thanks for your opinion XD

  14. Thanks for the chapter Bagelson!

How everything seems to be “twice the result for half the work” ?

Lazy people are lazy (me), I used google translate to read first part of the chapter for me (I was eating and kinda had difficulties to divide my attention). It worked surprisingly well.

Why has there been name change from ‘Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew’ to ‘Penetrating Gaze Begonia’ ?

Is it just me or does that skull bone fell to be a bit OP and not just A BIT. ?

  15. I need to stop reading the manga T_T. It’s ahead of the LN by a bit but misses out on so many key details and explanations.

What I would give for someone to re create the LN in the manga form word by word.

    • Not only does the manga leave out a lot of detail, it also creates a lot of it also. Like in the manga, Dai Mubai’s relationship is one of companionship but in the LN its rivalry 100%

  19. @Bagelson I thought Tang San had closely achieved the rank of a Spirit Douluo.. But i was mistaken after reading the succeeding chapters when he was in level 50 only… i had a thought of his spirit ranking reaching Doulou after you said it in your translation here in this chapter, “Tang Hao discovered that the spiritual force Tang San possessed right now, was unexpectedly close to the level of ordinary Spirit Douluo.” So i’d like to ask you and offcourse from everybody else’s point of view, what does ordinary spirit douluo means? Is there really exist an ordinary spirit douluo?. Although i mean, even they are all the same spirit douluo, in terms of strength they will differ that much, just like Tang Hao can’t be either face a win by Chrysanthemum and Ghost Duoluo combined forced so we can say douluo can be rank by strength.. However, I can’t believe a spirit douluo is that ordinary, hence, there are only a very few in them exists. what do you think guys? :/

    • You are confusing spirit force with spirit power. The point is that spirit force is a mental force, which develops with different kinds of cultivation, and has more to do with aura and cognitive power, rather than strength. The wisdom spirit bone, along with tangs cultivation of purple demon eye, makes it so that his spirit force, or mental strength if you will, is at the level of a regular spirit duoluo, which is between levels 80 and 89. His spirit power, on the other hand, is at 50+ atm, spirit power being your actual strength.
