The manhua has nothing on this xD Hell, the manhua is nothing but confusing and full of holes without the sort of explanations the novel gives xD

      • It’s the biggest problem you face when a popular chinese novel gets turns into a manhua. All the important details get left out, under the assumption you can understand what happens without it, or that you have already read the novel version.

It happened to sywz, doulou dalu after like 130 chapters (this is where the info skips become immense), CD they got the facts wrong/changed them for a different take. zhanlong was terrible as a novel but worse when it went manhua-mode.

It’s like the chinese can write “literary gold”, but when it comes to changing its form, they are the worst jewellers on the planet. very few of their changed stories actually genuinely work when you read the manhua without novel knowledge.

the pains of an avid reader v.v

        • well said, and it’s even stranger when you compare it to japan which has taken several light novel series and turned them into perfectly fine manga/anime, a few series were even made better than the original light novel

          • well, the upside is that it’s easier to visualize if all the scenes and appearances are in your face :3 the best stories for turning into manga’s are those that aren’t too detail heavy in short spans of time (which a lot of the chinese ones I have seen are). It might just be that they are more “in practice” due to having practically started the whole trend 😛

However, If i had to blame anything, it would be that the chinese have quite a bit of history, and some very interesting folklore. many stories written using these means there is a lot that they will see, that will be lost in translation for those of us not familiar with their customs. (for example maybe a specific color or style of pot on the table next to the entry has a special meaning or something, they will spot it without mention while we won’t)

            • Nah! First of all there are nothing to do with less details or more details when LN is translated to Manga (not talking about Manhua or Manhwa here). It is just that details is not needed. Why would author agree for Manga to be as good as there LN?

If there is any other reason then it is just Lazy Work.

NOTE: I personally love LN/WN more than their counter part Manga. At least for those I have read.

              On Extra Note:

Chinese work have nothing extra over Japanese or any other. So don’t say Chinese have quite bit of history and such. Here is why, I have read Wuxia and all others online WN (not related to story using 3 Kingdom etc), there no f**king history there. It is just made up story. It is all fictional.

Author who actually use proper historical facts and make story are awesome but other wise, it is just fiction. What matters is how well they write,

PS: Sorry for sounding a bit offensive.

PS2: DD Manhua is utter shit. I say this mostly because DD’s writing is awesome. Even if I can’t read Chinese, from translation alone I can know how good of a writer Tan San is. BTW the good writing so far applies to DD only, Mad Dog hasn’t have many chapter yet. SYWZ is pretty one dimensional so far. Skyfire Avenue I haven’t read. Did I miss any more of his works?

              Like

              • meh. certain details do or don’t carry because they are either thoughts or scene pieces that cannot be given a noticeable mention in the manhua’s. As for history, a surprising amount of it still finds its influence even if its not a historical story, not history by facts but rather because the whole “wuxia” or martial combat is a relic of their past being used for creative purposes and recreted over and over. And I’m not joking about the about of history china has, i swear it is one of the longest running now all the way bak to the 3kingdoms et cetera. They have a lot of interesting history to draw from when being creative, and often old sayings make an appearance that the translator has to explain at least once 😛

no worries about sounding offensive haha, pretty much everyone knows the manhua’s are utterly suckish compared to the LN for details and flow, but some people will like them simply due to their format hehe :3

            • Well China and Japan and Korea share History. The differentiation of country is just a Modern Concept.. So that is why I said what I said – Chinese work have nothing extra over Japanese or any other.

I get it that some history can be called country specific but that applies to modern ones only. The old history are all shared.

BTW Thanks for debating things with me. I think further debating is waste of time. I will give you face and give me some (Wow! I am now saying things like a Chinese – If I were to believe these Chinese WNs)

PS: People from China, Japan, Korea or Nearby country can share their views if they want to. Ohh! I am from neighboring county just so you know. I will visit back only once again in 12 Hrs to see if anyone shared their views.

      • As i understud it the silver grass wont create any more spirit rings for him, but it will upgrade the one they gave him when his body can handle a more powerfull one.

    • Wow what a question. you might want to re read this chapter and see if he became a spirit beast or if he was always one the lived for a 100,00 years and chose to come back human. im sure that will answer your question fully if you look to see if that happen.

Tang San’s OP-ness may have reached its climax with this chapter – what can the author give him that beats what he’s already got? …Apart from maybe a full set of powerful Spirit Bones. And some more artifacts. And… well, I’m looking forward to finding out 😉

  10. Nice!! So his fifth spirit ring is a 25000 yr blue silver emperor which will keep evolving in age as Tang San can endure, so in short his fifth ring is a 100,000 Ring. Can’t wait to see its abilities.

    Liked by 4 people

    • yeah, I’m kinda confused by what they meant about his spirit ring… I get that his spirit is now a fully awakened Blue Spirit Emperor but the chapter’s kinda vague on just what that spirit ring was. Does it evolve like you stated?(which would be weird and doesnt make much sense) Can he now create his own spirit rings for the Blue Silver Emperor with the help of wild blue silver grass?(that makes some sense to me) Did the abilities of his previous spirit rings change with the awakening of his spirit? So many questions that won’t be answered until the next chapter if not even longer

      Like

          • It did say that, what wasn’t elaborated on was the blue tinge that his previous 4 rings had during his awakening.

            Like

            • yes, it was elaborated on. The blue tinge to his pre-existing four rings was how it explained them turning from four rings of Blue Silver Grass to four rings of Blue Silver Emperor, i.e. improving the spirit quality of the rings.
They also said his new 5th ring would self-promote. So it would ‘age’ as he levels to the maximum he can sustain. In other words, when he hits Title Duoluo it should automatically become a 100k ring. Sort of like his external spirit bone.
With all 8 meridians open, he should be able to use big dipper qi for spirit materialization. We’ll see what that portends.

              Like

      • I think after awaken, he’s now half human half spirit beast so he can just make a new spirit ring like Xiao Wu, Blue silver king said it from his own body right?

        Like

      • I think it is the same as xiao wu 4th spirit ability in concept. It is said that as xiao wu’s spirit power increase the effect of his 4th spirit ability will be longer and since tang san is half spirit beast it is also possible that he can create or maybe the spirit ability of the parent spirit beast can be pass on to their offsprings. This is only a wild guess since there is no explaining how a halfling like tang san obtain a self created spirit ability because unlike xiao wu explained in previous chapter once a 100k spirit beast turns to human form their ability are sealed and they need to cultivate to retain their abilities meaning there are already a predetermined spirit ability all xiao wu need to do is break through levels. There is no way tang san can do this unless as what i have said it is hereditary.

      • IMO since Tang San had a 2nd awaking of spirit, his emperor silver grass itself contains a sprit ring which he just aquired simply by awakening it. As for the colour being blue, I imagine that It would be something to do with it being above the “red” 100000 spirit ring, something like a innate spirit ring. But I absolutely don’t think that tang San has become Half Spirit Beast, more like he has awakened the Spirit Beast of Emperor Blue Grass which resides in his body and as such can decide to become immortal like Xaio Wu.

        Like

        • I already cant fathom how strong the opponents of tang san will be in the future. I mean he is way op the way he is now, first having an evolving external spirit bone and now an evolving 5th spirit ring. Also im guessing that his 1st 100k spirit ring will be the 100k phyton ox residing deep within star dou forest.

          Like

          • Why would you think that?… Isn’t it pretty obvious at this point that those beasts are somehow related to XW… I mean really…
And on the point of awakening… Your argument in Wuxia logic is baseless… He is half, In fact he is “THE King” so I think the bigger question entirely lies in the results of SR7, the auto-ring on whether he gets Spirit Avatar or Tool Spirit Avatar to discover how relevant being half is… Unless you wanna argue he’s like quarter or something, I mean the BSK blatantly states that the blood of the BSE runs through his veins(plus Tang Hao stated earlier that they “become” human, not are reborn so Tang Yin and XW are both still Spirit Beasts

            Like

        • Sorry but you couldn’t be more wrong XD
          1. You said that Tang San isnt half-spirit beast, this is actually quite possible considering his body was changed som much during his second awakening.
          2. But even more importantly, you said he isnt half-spirit beast, but then you said he could make the choice to become immortal like Xiao Wu. Which is possible. If hes half spirit beast.

          • I feel like any other wuxia in existence would already tell you that ANY human who reaches 100(Sprit Beast or otherwise) would gain immortality, although I also feel like there’s gotta be a helluva lot more to it than that seeing how ya know…. every Spirit Beast ever has a life expectancy of 101k years??

            Like

      • Without trying to spoil stuff, here is what the ring does. As stated, it will “level up” with Tang San as long as Tang San continues to level up. If Tang gains higher in rank, the fifth spirit ring will rise in years in cultivation as well to the limit that tang can endure. So if Tang can endure, meaning taking in, a spirit ring that is 50,000 year old, the fifth ring will cultivate as well to that level, becoming a 50,000 year ring.

        Like

        • The 5th ring can actually be a measuring tool, guiding if tang san can already obtain a 100k spirit ring. The 5th ring can evolve potentially turning to be a 100k spirit ring, is this a premonition he can possibly obtain a 100k spirit ring when he break through 60 rank? If you think through this 5th ring (potential to be a 100k spirit ring, red color) making all future spirit rings likely to be 100k spirit ring, but then i am not taking away the fact that this will most likely not happen. I am only bother by the color of spirit rings being messed up haha, 5th ring (red), 6th ring (black), 7th ring (black or most likely red) and so on.

This spirit ring color ascension really bothers me. Is it me having OCD or I am just delusional? 😀

          • personaly my twin and i have been talking a lot about this lol. we think that 100k spirit beasts are going to force immolate themselves for tang san so he can become even stronger! so basically 5th-9th ring (Red)

i also had a thought about the spirit bones, if a person aquires all 6 (head, torso, arm x2, leg x2) would they gain a spirit bone armor?

            Like

      • I’m not sure about the evolution thing but I think the spirit ring is like how spirit beasts have their own spirit abilities, I think he’s able to do this since he has spirit beast blood in him.

        Like

    • It’s a ring that will continue to improve to the uttermost limit of what his body can take, currently 25k as the fifth ring where most spirit masters can only handle 10k around the 50th level. At the 90th level it will be far stronger than a “generic” 100k ring. Basically he’s a monster already the second he reaches doulou level, not including all his other disgustingly overpowered characteristics

  12. Wow….. Many thanks Bagelson, you really picked the perfect time to spoil us.

This chapter was truly awesome it was a qualitative leap in so many aspects, first in Tang San’s strength, also in his relationship to both his parents and also his spirit, then we have his physical changes along with his spirit bone, even his mentality has probably been affected by feeling what its like to feel a mother’s love.

      • That being said, there are some pretty amazing manhwa, such as Tower of God and The Breaker. I feel like if the manwha hadn’t been so shounen(or the Korean equivalent)ized it could’ve been up there with the best, if not necessarily at the level of the novel.

  14. Wait, did he say that all eight of his special meridians were connected? Doesn’t that mean he can now do the big dipper qi attack? Also didn’t he mention something about him being able to take a few more immortal treasures once the ones he had completely fused with his body? Because, if that’s true, when is he going to ingest another herb and gain some freaky flower power? Also, what other Tang Sect skills will he be able to start cultivating now that he’s reached lvl 50? I have so many questions

    Like

      • No. His 7th got connected back at the waterfall. And the remaining 8th was connected in this chapter.

        Like

    • Yes, all 8 are now open. I remember he said he could use the big dipper qi to boost his defense, I don’t remember an attack mentioned. The elders did things like that when he was under Shi Nian’s nightmare though, so it should be possible. Also, I think you’re right about being able to take another immortal herb once he completely absorbs the first ones. New Tang Sect are just the next rank up of the ones he uses normally. He said there are 9 ranks, so he can cultivate the 5th level now.

    Thanks for the chapter.

      • Actually you are both wrong… While Tang San did “create it”, it was created via the awakening of his BSE through the combined essence and “worship” of all the BSG in the area(including the king), basically leading the best guess to be that he can only “create” the one spirit ring, however it could have been made for any of his rings, besides how would the king present Tang with an aging ring and survive the ordeal in that theory??
