OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!! I love stories that have the MC enter the lawless cities
Thanks for the translation, you’re pumping chapters faster than Octomom!
After rereading it several more times, I realize that that veiled woman is probably very strong and famous…..since every person is required to fight in the Arena, she doesn’t look like she gives blood, and that half-dead man was scared silly when he saw her.
Well, imagine how much sadder it’d be to have nothing to do because everyone’s too scared of you being too OP.
On her arena match – the opponent is so scared he just suicide to avoid ‘slow death’
Nobody want to break the law except the stupid – not really a worthy enemy
So she don a special mask that helps hide her true aura (like a certain slime) so newcomers won’t be freaked out by her…or if it’s actually a mask for any guides so people can’t tell it’s her until they get close.
Not really. It protects it citizens from outside. Yes you have pay the Price but not Sketchy. Sketchy would be if the is an official underground in this underground city who sells citizen for profit.
Dark and bloody thats what most storys are missing 😀
Love this chapter i cant wait for Tang to become a Deathgod *-*
Thanks for the chapter awesome work again 🙂
Don’t speak of it, we must keep ‘that’ out of our minds for as long as possible and just let it happen. Its not good to dread the inevitable, only makes it worse.
BTW what are the chances that the Title Douluo is Tang Hao’s Brother. The clan is in hiding. This looks like an awesome place to hide. Even if not the whole clan at least few of the strong members who would really stick out in outside world can hide here more so if the Tang Hao’s brother is the Captain.
This is just a wild guess, no evidence to support it except the word “Title Douluo”.
Huh I was not replying to your “Massacre Metropolis” comment. Looks like I some how clicked your reply and ended up replying to you instead of a proper comment.
Anyways since this has turned out to be a reply. Slaughter City is cooler.
Then possibly lol of course, I’m pretty sure that Title Doulous are so powerful that they’re practically impossible to find if they don’t wanna be found lol I mean, Tang Hao was a blacksmith in some random village in the middle of nowhere for years… Spirit Hall might have seven title doulou, but even then, they wouldn’t be able to find another title doulou who was hiding somewhere and not announcing their pressence lol
You have a point and I have thought about that too. The case of rest of Clan is different, they are not hiding alone. A Titled Doulou can hide by himself but what about others of clan. As we Know whole clan is hiding, so I am making that guess. Well we will wait and see.
If this comes true, It would be probably my first time when a no evidence Guess is right regarding DD.
Lmao, yea, it’s ‘possible’ but for all we know, the rest of the school might have just been exterminated by Spirit Hall secretly. Also, without actually using their spirits openly and registering at spirit hall, it would be very hard for a small village of clear-sky hammer users to be discovered: especially if they were spread out across the continent.
I feel like, even though they’re the most powerful spirit, a place like Slaughter City would be terrible for anyone to live in lol
Hmm! Good Points on Secret Village and Bad Conditions of Slaughter City.
But I do not agree with – “the rest of the school might have just been exterminated by Spirit Hall secretly”
If this was the case Spirit Hall would openly kill Tang San because there will be no backlash from the action even if Tang Hao was out there. From what have been indicated Clear Sky Clan is in hiding some may have been killed but significant amount remain.
And at least the other 2 School (2nd and 3rd ranked) would know about it. Not where they are hiding but at least if most are dead. Also it is known the School went into to hiding right after the conflict. Some may have died before hiding but the Top 3 School are like brothers, so it would be impossible for Spirit Hall to clean out the No 1 clan without pissing off the other 2.
PS: I am not saying other 2 School would actively oppose Spirit Hall. What I am saying is just think about it logically. If Spirit Hall was allowed to clean out Clan No 1, then who would be next to die out. Obviously No 2 and 3. To remain alive they would become like slave.
Well, I don’t think it’s likely, just because the author probably wouldn’t write it that way… but logically speaking, no one knows if Clear Sky exists atm. Like, whether they’re in hiding, or if most of them were exterminated and only a handful remain, either way, only Tang Hao and the higher-ups in Spirit Hall know at this point in the story lol.
It has been said the Whole Clan went into hiding and also why (just hinted) and when. The only unanswered question are how (were they able to hide) and where. The source can be considered highly credible – Ning Rongrong’s Dad and I think even the price confirmed it (Plz do check, If I am correct about prince). [Sorry I am bad at remembering name].
Yea, I said that I was pretty sure they would be lol If the two of them know about it, then they probably have something to do with where they’re hidden…. actually, it would be funny if the royal family was the clear sky school lol I remember that one time when the emperor released his aura, and they said it was really ridiculous (Maybe he’s Tang Hao’s brother lol) and the prince could be Tang Sans cousin lol
I KNOW RIGHT, i was about to drop reading this story cause how light hearted the manhwa was and how bad it made xiao wu look, but the LN takes away both those horrible mistakes that the manhwa makes
As someone who follows both the manga and the LN I can say that the manga does not credit the LN enough and it gives mad spoilers for no apparent reason. Overall, I really like the LN and read the manga just because I am unable to stop myself from doing so.
damn the last chapters have becomed really captivating……i’m dying for more….thx for the chapter and pls keep the update speed that you are at it now(1 chap/day) i know that its hard to translate and i’m an asshole for asking this but seriously…i’m dying for more, for the past few days since tang hao entered the picture i’ve visited the side more than 150-200 times/day…it’s like im addicted….
Who else is hoping to see Tang san’s hidden weapons at work. In slaughter city their is no civilized competition restricting hidden weapon so let the slaughter commence.
not to mention that he is walking around with ALL the poison from the poison douluos special poison garden + an extreamly poisunus snake, that he mutated to make more poisonous…
Rarely has someone brought that many WMDs to Slaughter city… (ok, so some of it is assembly required, but still)
honestly, can’t think of a more dangerous person to let lose in a place with these restrictions. only people that can completely seal him with pure spirit presure stands a chance, and maybe people whom like sword doulou are likely to train martial arts on a scale similar to his.
and even then they would only be able to get him into a position where he couldn’t or wouldn’t use his arts speciality, the hidden surprise gear.
But seriously.
This is the part of Tang sangs armory that we know about:
Clear Sky hammer
Blue silver emperor grass radar?
Exploding gaze beam
mind freeze gaze beam
Mind Effect disruptor
8 spider lances
ALL the poison
3-4 different kinds of crossbows (that we know about)
Hand Grenades. with poison. and a side of poisonous smoke
Hidden darts
Mechanical hammers
throwing daggers, (4 different kinds that i can remember…)
chakrams
Throwing stars
Pocket snake
daggers
Blacksmiths hammers
Needles
Golden Needles that can’t be removed
Crushing Grappling hook gun.
Hand to hand unarmed combat mastery
+ whatever he hasn’t told us about, and i have forgotten about.
To be compared with guys that brought 2-4 things to kill people with…
If I remember correctly Xiao Wu is better in hand to hand combat than Tang San if they go without spirit power or abilities or weapons. Or at least was at some point. Not so sure anymore. Or was it just Tang San didn’t want to hurt her?
both. she is slightly better than Tang San in pure unarmed hand to hand combat (but he still stands a fighting chance. she had something like a 70-30 win ratio between the two back in the beginning of school arc when we were last told about it), but he wins if he is allowed to use weapons.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the spirit bone’s eye beam thing. I wonder if he can use that and pass it off as something else to keep people from bothering him?
Slaughter city sounds like the kind of place that might sell poisons. or grow poison.
so, one of the top 2 poison user and the number 1 hidden weapon user from an assassin sect in a town where you pay by slaughter? next question ought to be what happens if he kills EVERYONE in the city
(except possibly the enforcer squads spirit Douluo and upwards, sooo maybe just kill 90% of the town)
But yeah, this sounds like a place specifically designed to make Tang san stand out as an elite.
Not Really, here Tang San was insulted not his mother and he only said that sentence after killing. Sounds more like just an excuse. Well saying that it is an excuse is going too far on my side but there is no similarity with SYWZ.
I myself did remember the incident of SYWZ but it is not the same. It is like saying 1 and 100 are same because both have 1 and 0 has no value.
Thanks a lot for the chapter, it keeps becoming more and more interesting. Bagelson i know the hard work you are putting in translating one chapte/day and i kinda fear the day your translation speed will drop but i hope you will keep this up, i’d rather have you take two weeks vacantion each month if we could get one chapter/day in the other two weeks
i don’t think that will happen sadly 😉
It would be GREAT to see that, but I guess he’ll be like “I’m so smart now, so it’s better NOT to show my External Spirit Bone cause people are dumb and they’ll think it’s regular Spirit Bone and will try to take it and will want me dead even more, so…”
He’ll most likely stick to his “OP SECT FROM OTHER WORLD” secret arts (obviously developing new ones, hidden from us so far because fuck us, that’s why 😛 )
lolz, just remember that the accumulated energy he gets from absorbing with the eight spider lances disappears after a while; it’s only when he’s eligible to get a new Spirit Ring that its possible for the eight spider lances to advance as well. And if I didn’t read incorrectly the eight spider lances already evolved when the Blue Silver King helped Tang San to condense his 5th spirit ring, making them transparent blue with red and white swirly lights
It doesn’t skip over it, the manwha takes out most of the killing and since this city is literally about drinking human bood and killing they replaced it with trials and some stupid ass key thing.
Depends on the human blood used to make it, I would be lead to believe. If you’ve ever bit your lip or cheek before and had the taste of your own blood, then you know it can be very iron heavy and taste either sour or sweet. So just depends on what person it came from, so it could either be really good (assuming you don’t know it’s human blood) or really shitty.
I have to say, for me LN so far was better than manhua, although there were cases when I prefered the changes to the actual story.
Still, that Slaughter City arc… Gotta admit, the whole darkness & ruthlessness… Loving it. It’s such a shame it wasn’t shown in manhua.
I really love the fact that the MC isn’t some fluffy bunny-hugging (*cough-cough* excluding Xiao Wu) pansy who shirks at doing what he needs to get stronger to protect the people that he loves. This also isn’t some magical *eat-this-pill-and-get-stronger* (we already had the *souped-up-drug-stage* lol). This is a kill everything in sight to gain a ruthless aura of a cold blooded killer. I feel the story progression for Tang San to get stronger is realistically brutal and difficult, he hasn’t had a walk in the park while obtaining strength yet.
Look, I get the fact that everyone in Slaughter City are blood-stained maniacs who deserve whats coming their way, but I know that even in my wildest imagination I wouldn’t be able to become a mass murderer for the sake of other people. It takes a special kind of dedication to mindlessly slaughter your way through a death-match Colosseum for the sake of obtaining strength. Although getting through there being the only means of ever seeing the light of day might contribute to Tang San’s state of mind.
That was sooooooooo random. I totally did NOT expect that. That scene also brought some brutality to the story, a.k.a. “if you want true strength there’s no easy road to obtaining it”. I can’t imagine this whole affair is easy for Tang Hao to go through… The author is really amazing though, I still feel queasy thinking of that scene…
Honestly Slaughter City seems like such a stupid idea…. Like oh hey, here’s an entire city hidden in the mountains with multiple Spirit Doulou level powers, a Title Doulou level general, and a King that can shut off spirit abilities inside his domain(i’m assuming that’s through the use of the purple moon, that things has to be some kind of spirit tool) where anything goes. And for some reason neither of the empires or Spirit Hall has taken control of it yet and just let it exist…. Despite all that and my issue with how it doesnt seem to fit, I am going to enjoy seeing Tang San slicing his way through this city, this arc should be alot of fun
Are you stu….*sigh* the reason is pretty much given in the chapter. Would you go to a place where you are significantly weakened while the people you’re trying to fight has their full strength? If yes then you are truly an idiot.
Do you seriously think Spirit Hall couldn’t take this city? We’ve seen Title Doulou, like Tang Hao, crush people without using their spirits at all, if Spirit Hall brought out their full strength then Slaughter City would fall, same for the Empires bringing in actual armies that dont need spirits. It’s not like the city is magic that restricts all spirit abilities, it’s most likely a tool controlled by the king which means A. there’s a way to either turn it off or block it’s effects(thus how his elites can use abilities), B. It has limited range so attacks from outside could work. and C. if it’s a tool it can be destroyed. It would be costly but it could be done. Most likely if either empire or Spirit Hall was able to gain complete control of the continent they would then come and destroy this place, until then they’re content to let it be
Orrr…they have no idea it actually exists, since it seems you missed the point that this city is insanely deep into the wilderness. Those that know of the place are said to be more criminals and ruffiage. So I highly doubt the two cities really know anything about it, they may have heard it’s name but location and otherwise they probably have no idea what it actually is.
Agreed with Boom Boom and cirex145. Why would they know about it? And if they do, why would they care? The place may be a “haven” for criminals, but the price for survival in there is high, so they’ll likely take care of the majority of the problems by themselves. The population is mowed down to half its size once a year thanks to the Colosseum-style death matches after all.
they know about it. Illusion girl was talking about going there after all. More likely it’s like Cirex said, “why should we take massive losses to wipe out a town of sociopaths trying to kill each other? They are doing just fine killing themselfs without us going there…”
You do realize that slaughter city has multiple Title Doulou that CAN use there spirit rings. Spirit Hall or the empires would definitely get wiped out trying to attack.
1 title doulou, multiple spirit Doulou. And how big is the range of effect on this cancelling ability? Tang San was able to use his abilities at the bar and then walk to the city gates where he couldn’t use them anymore. Title Doulou can use attacks with massive damage and range, or do you not remember Dogu Bo worrying about destroying a mountain on accident while fighting the Golden Triangle, or that he later said he could kill everyone in Heaven Dou City(one of the 2 largest in the world) with his 9th ability? There’s a good chance that you could destroy a large part of the city and maybe whats keeping the powers suppressed form outside it’s range. Also since some people can use abilities then odds are they have a spirit tool that is negating the effect of the one shutting off abilities, if thats true then someone like Tang Hao enter legitimately, find one of the Spirit Doulou lvl guards that can use abilities, kill him, take whatever item lets them use abilities inside the city, then go nuts with all his powers and wipe the city out…
Also to the guy that said the other powers might not know the city exist, where do you think the charm girl from Spirit Hall was going? She’ll be showing up here inside the city before long
Tang hao was able to fight a rank 70 spirit master without using spirit power that’s number one. Tang hao and the clear sky sect is all about “Tyrannical strength” you saw how tang San was training I’m pretty sure physically the other title dulo are lacking compared to him unless they are beast spirit master who focus on strength and I doubt there’s many of such title dulo. Another thing the 2 empires and spirit hall absolutely hate each other they won’t work together to attack that place and they won’t waste time individually attacking that place for fear of a sneak attack by their true enemies. Each other. You don’t know the extent of the range of the thing that can take away spirit power so your statements are irrelevant. The main points I really want to drive home is that you don’t know how many “hidden experts” this place has as well and I doubt that even if tang hao was fully healthy That he would be able to fight another title duo the same rank as him if that title duo could use his abilities while he was restricted to not being able to use his abilities.
I think you need to re read this chapter to understand. Title doulous wouldn’t stand a chance against a doulous alone, since they couldn’t use their spirit rings.
Tang San Explained that, especially if there’s a title doulous with them. They would get wiped out. Even tang hao couldn’t fight a title doulou without spirit rings.
Also Even if they some how succeed, they would have lost number of people and weakened their military power. Making it arrogant.
Also it’s underground so there is no way someone could destroy it, if they tried they would have get killed.
But this is all in the chapter, re read or pay attention.
Slaughter city is a stupid idea? Are you serious? It definitely fits in. Did you miss to read that slaughter city is domain left behind after a formidable Spirit Master broke through the hundredth rank? Do you realize that there are definitely great powers behind slaughter city? Well obviously not. I can’t even imagine the awesomeness of tang san if he break through the hundredth rank. Just saying.
main point is that whoever found it first would be pretty much impossible to take it from. They can use all of their abilities, while anyone who enters loses them.
Since the world doesnt have any hidden weapon knowledge, and actual non-spirit based physical combat knowledge seems pretty rare, it’s essentially a rigged fight for 99% of the experts even if the person was only somewhat powerful.
So the ruler of the area would essentially just be whatever spirit master happened to find out how to control it first…. nothing spirit hall or anyone, other than a few freaks like tang hao, could possibly do about it, and even they are SOL when the opponent is a title douluo
Not sure where to argue so I’ll reply to the original post, The material that takes away spirit power was left behind by a 100 doulou-or its rumored so- and probably can’t be damaged by spirit power attacks, plus there’s a 21 foot drop into a 36 meter (I think that’s what it said) tunnel. Spirit hall definitely already knows about it because they sent that one fox lady there which was mentioned earlier in the story, and they probably see it as a place to send people to grow stronger and a place that’s not worth the effort of taking. Why would you take a fortress that would cause deaths of title doulou of which there are at most 50 total in the entire continent so there a supreme power. Also title doulou are arrogant people and wouldn’t admit to not being able to take the city. The idea of the city is pretty stupid I have to admit since it just seems like an excuse for a lot of murder. As said earlier in the story spirit doulou would be able to kill title doulou in the city if the title doulou couldn’t use their abilities, so imagine what a title doulou could do. Another point is if it was a tool it had to have been left behind by an immortal doulou and more than likely wouldn’t be something a title doulou can break.
I know I’m doing a lot of restating but I thought it would be helpful to see it al and a little more in one place.
Are you a woman? Do you realize that periods are painful? 2 cups are easy? Take that back now before the incure the wrath of half the world’s population.
Just wanted to say thanks so much for the amazing release rate recently, your momentum is fantastic and it makes the good story even better when we get to read the continuation before the previous chapters fade into memory. I’m loving this!
After a moment, two cups of muddy liquid were carried over. The liquid seemed dark read, (I think you meant red not read.) distributing a strong stink, as if the nose was assaulted by blood.
Thanks for much for all the fast releases Bagelson!
Pretty sure its chinese. I can speak and understand chinese, but can’t read and write it, so i can’t help. Anyways, it gives me immense satisfation when i read c-novels to know how to pronounce the names correctly.
And thanks for the fast translations, you’re a monster, even more than Tang San
Woah shit! This turned so dark, but then Tang San will be able to show his true Asura might. Two life’s worth of experiences, especially since he was in the Tang Sect; specialised in killing, poison, hidden weapons so on. Plus Tang can easily kill without mercy, so yay! ^_^
I looked at the abilities on the wiki since I was tired and didn’t think there would be spoilers and let me tell you that there was mad spoilers. I also went and checked out doulou dalu 2 and the first thing I saw was a name and let me tell you the naming system isn’t very creative, but lets be real on my second point doulou dalu 2 could be 500 years in the future and I could be completely wrong.
So, his old man bring San to a place to train battle experience and Haki! As a bonus, it will protect San from Spirit Hall as well! Incoming 2 years time skip?
Yeah. Haki. Haoshoku haki. Well it looks like tang san will become invincible after this arc considering that he now possesed and probably mastered the 3 types of hakis. Kenbunshoku haki(elevate senses through wisdom skull, PDE and BSE) + Busoshoku haki (big dipper qi and SP materialization). LOL
im happy with this ark we haven’t seen the full display of tangs san hidden weapons and i like how this is going to be all about his hidden weapon techs taking most of the show. can there be any other situation just to show how OP tang is and we thought the school comp was going to be the high point. man he is going to a legend of every level i wonder how great his legend will be when its all said and done
Thank you very much!
wah—? This is awesome! So cool, so dark! I like—! It’s not politics dark, but gore dark, which is fine! Also, so his looks are on Oscar’s and Dai Mubai’s level now, huh? Lol, now he finally has his true looks. So looking forward to the slaughter!
Thanks for Chapter

As someone who follows both the manga and the LN I can say that the manga does not credit the LN enough and it gives mad spoilers for no apparent reason. Overall, I really like the LN and read the manga just because I am unable to stop myself from doing so.

honestly, can’t think of a more dangerous person to let lose in a place with these restrictions. only people that can completely seal him with pure spirit presure stands a chance, and maybe people whom like sword doulou are likely to train martial arts on a scale similar to his.
and even then they would only be able to get him into a position where he couldn’t or wouldn’t use his arts speciality, the hidden surprise gear.
But seriously.
This is the part of Tang sangs armory that we know about:
Clear Sky hammer
Blue silver emperor grass radar?
Exploding gaze beam
mind freeze gaze beam
Mind Effect disruptor
8 spider lances
ALL the poison
3-4 different kinds of crossbows (that we know about)
Hand Grenades. with poison. and a side of poisonous smoke
Hidden darts
Mechanical hammers
throwing daggers, (4 different kinds that i can remember…)
chakrams
Throwing stars
Pocket snake
daggers
Blacksmiths hammers
Needles
Golden Needles that can’t be removed

Slaughter city sounds like the kind of place that might sell poisons. or grow poison.
so, one of the top 2 poison user and the number 1 hidden weapon user from an assassin sect in a town where you pay by slaughter? next question ought to be what happens if he kills EVERYONE in the city
(except possibly the enforcer squads spirit Douluo and upwards, sooo maybe just kill 90% of the town)
But yeah, this sounds like a place specifically designed to make Tang san stand out as an elite.

lolz, just remember that the accumulated energy he gets from absorbing with the eight spider lances disappears after a while; it’s only when he’s eligible to get a new Spirit Ring that its possible for the eight spider lances to advance as well. And if I didn’t read incorrectly the eight spider lances already evolved when the Blue Silver King helped Tang San to condense his 5th spirit ring, making them transparent blue with red and white swirly lights

LikeLike
Are you stu….*sigh* the reason is pretty much given in the chapter. Would you go to a place where you are significantly weakened while the people you’re trying to fight has their full strength? If yes then you are truly an idiot.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Most likely if either empire or Spirit Hall was able to gain complete control of the continent they would then come and destroy this place, until then they’re content to let it be
LikeLike
Orrr…they have no idea it actually exists, since it seems you missed the point that this city is insanely deep into the wilderness. Those that know of the place are said to be more criminals and ruffiage. So I highly doubt the two cities really know anything about it, they may have heard it’s name but location and otherwise they probably have no idea what it actually is.

Orrrr they just don’t really care cause it takes away the psychopaths
LikeLiked by 1 person
Agreed with Boom Boom and cirex145. Why would they know about it? And if they do, why would they care? The place may be a “haven” for criminals, but the price for survival in there is high, so they’ll likely take care of the majority of the problems by themselves. The population is mowed down to half its size once a year thanks to the Colosseum-style death matches after all.
LikeLike
they know about it.

LikeLike
She’ll be showing up here inside the city before long
LikeLike
LikeLike

LikeLike
main point is that whoever found it first would be pretty much impossible to take it from.
LikeLike
