      • Shut the F*** up, you go learn to translate then, why are you forcing a free translator to push updates just for you!?!? learn to use some patience and just enjoy the awesome quality of translations he releases when it does come out.

It take a lot of work to learn to translate. No ones forcing hi, to make it but you are literally getting angry because someone wants a chapter translated. He didn’t even say anything mean or rude. Wow the internet does create some assholes now doesn’t it.

      • Then don’t read the manga if you think it spoils things. Personally I don’t care and having read spoilers from Google drive it doesn’t matter anymore anyway for me.

    • She has no problems with locking Xiao Wu up for 15 years then harvesting her for a spirit ring + bone, so she doesn’t get much sympathy from me. Let’s face it Xiao Wu’s really a compatible target for her, so thats what their plan problly is. I do blame Spirit Hall’s indoctrinating upbringing for most of that though.

      • Well I don’t really feel sorry for her… It’s not like I dislike her Character, actually I think she is a nice character. But at least at this point there is no reason to feel that way. It’s just San not having the same feelings for her and something like that happens all the time. Yes in his mind he intend to use her to rescue xiao wu if the situation requires it. But at this point he just confronted the teams, nothing besides that happened as far as I can see. It can change later. But right now she has no reason to felt used or something like that, nothing crazy happened. He doesn’t feel sorry because, its for xiao wu and not because she is on spirit hall.

Using the “she has no problem to lock her up for 15 years” as reason to not feel sorry for her is.. I also disagree with that. First we have no proof that this will happen, because it hasn’t happened yet. Although it is probable they will do it, it is also majorly a decision made by spirit hall, not her alone.
Second, well lets not forget the fact that she is in fact a spirit beast (just 100k yr), until now in the story they have been killed left and right (and nobody cared). Objectively speaking in point of spirit halls view it’s just a spirit beast, it’s just that we sympathize with her because she is one of the main character of the story, but for the sidechars this is not the case. The only thing that speaks against that, is that the spirit beast took a human form. In a way it’s similar to killing a person because they have the same feelings etc. I wouldn’t even be against it, if something like: a spirit beast getting 100k yr old > is regarded as human, gets human rights etc… but it’s hard to discuss whats right (morally) etc… since i was kind of shocked when oscar and his new friend killed the group, just because the spirit beast had a spirit bones… the reason being to save themselves… (although this may be true, what shocked me is that the groupmember would have killed them)

  1. I cannot help but feel bad for Hu Liena. Perhaps it is because of the whole star crossed lovers(?) situation (at least on her side). Not sure how to feel about Tang San taking advantage of the situation. Sure, I completely understand it from a rational point of view. Yet I also feel a bit dismayed by his change of temperament (much like Hu Liena). He seems to have lost his ‘clean as jade and clear as ice'(?) personality.

My traitorous heart seems to be rooting for this ship. A tragic ship that would burn and sink long before the bottle of wine could be fetched.

P.S. I thought that Hu Liena had already figured out who he was from when they parted? I seem to have misinterpreted it if I am not interpreting things erroneously on this chapter.

Thank you for your hard work!

    • She had already known every since Slaughter city. Her particular phrasing means that she attempted to hide Tang san’s identity, as a Clear Sky person, from her fellows. Despite him being cold to her, she still likes him…
Sigh, if only this novel has mistresses on the side. But no, stories like these are sorta no harem, but one true love.

Yes in slaughter city she fell for him. And she noticed by seeing his hammer. At that point (since she is not stupid) she has many times considered the possibility of him being tang san, but since his appearance due to 2nd awakening changed so much (together with the fact that she had the ability to determine whether he is using some ability to change his outer appearance -> answer: no) she had to accept that they are two different persons.
But as quoted, she knew that he is from clear-sky.

(I think when he sounded like he defected from Clear sky in this chapter, it’s kind of giving her new hopes, because it’s possible for him to join spirit hall, as compared to him being a direct disciple of CS)

Nonetheless, you have a point regarding his ruthlessness. Still…I always considered his character as ‘straight as an arrow’ And him being more conniving due to his aunt’s training just doesn’t hit off with me. Refined and cunning sounds awfully useful, yet it strikes me too diplomatic or politician much. -Shudders-

    • He already considered that. He said that if he left, then he would have to find Xiao Wu (which would take longer) on his own and the possibility of them finding her first would essentially crush the chances of her getting away since neither, he nor she, have the strength to defeat defeat them. So he’s sticking close to them to warn her AND find her at the same time until they go “fuck it” when they cant find her and leave for the time being. That is the plan.

He also admitted that it was reckless, so I’m sure he feels the same way you do XD

      • I agree with you, I was shocked when he decided to go to confront them after confirming there are two title douluo. Actually I thought he was stupid… since it’s clear they will know that he is from clear sky. Plus if he show his hammer without spirit ring and is somehow forced to use river grass (twin spirit), everyone will knew about him, since his whole profile is on the desk of spirit hall…
Then there is the fact that he is from CS, although he doesnt know that 7tiles + tyrannt dragon got exterminated (CS is also a target), the situation between CS and SH -> conflict.
Just relying on Hu is too naive, since he probably doesn’t know that he is now the “maiden”/future pontiff (ok he may deduct it from the fact that she is disciple of bibi), he shouldn’t assume she has the authority in this group, esspecially if there are two title douluo, it’s easy to imagine that her opinion will be supressed. The situation would be different if she is in lead of this group, that would make approaching more understandable, but even then it’s not for sure if he would be able to convince her to let go of 100k yr spirit xiao wu, since she would represent spirit hall.
Then him notifying xiao wu without the title douluo notifcing is also too optimistic. Besides this not being easy, it would require him to at least to constantly use his river grass to extend his reach out of their range (to act before them), this would create 2 problems: first they need to be blind to notice him observing surroundings very hard (this is very hard, because if he joins them, probably everyone will be more cautious around him and observe him even more, because he is not from SH but from CS) and second if he uses any river grass ability he would be exposed.

Well yes, I think its a really bad move, but leaving that aside even if forest is big, his chances to find her shouldn’t be too bad. First, since previously it was said the forest is divided in areas, 10-1k yr, 10k yr (+100k yr?) or 10k yr, and 100k yr. The search area becomes smaller than looking in the whole forest, but since Iam not in the forest, I don’t know a thing, it is possible that even then its waaaay to big, so I will let this slide.
But many times it was shown that he has superior observing ability, using that river grass. So he can covers a big area => meaning he can search very efficient and fast (even if his spirit power is not so high, that this skill would reach it’s peak => which would be really outstanding (from a quote from 1 or 2 chapters ago))
I can’t say he will be able to search faster than them, but he will be able to look for her efficiently. (but I actually think he can search faster than them, since his observation ability permitted him to see the SH team before they noticed him, although he focussed his attention to 1500 (meters) was specific in one direction rather than surrounding, but even when the SH team approached and distance between them was 500meters, they didn’t notice him and made their camp…. So this shows that he should easily be able to hide from them or even follow them hidden… never mind though.

Then further adding into his chances is, he see them making a camp and going sleeping in tents… Its safe to assume they will at least rest there for the time being if not for the whole night. (rather if they plan to rest just 1h or 2, there wouldn’t be need to make a camp right?) => Man this is a big time boost, he can use the whole night to search for her, while they are still sleeping. After knowing they arrived, he could even speed up due to desperation, which further adds to his chances. And if still don’t find her, he can still later opt to confront them… (even if everyone in the camp/group is formidable, it also means that their fastest moving speed is = the slowest person. Meaning even if title douluo can move at light speed, since they are moving in a group he has to adjust to his group… so I believe San even though spirit rank is below, he should have an edge due to his crazy body, his immortal herbs, and his training under the waterfall which boosted his body to the max.. his speed to search should be faster, unless the SH teams decides to split up… which would create other opportunities (like assaulting them)…
Since I mentioned his crazy body and resulting physical abilities, he even if he goes into desperation mode and search like crazy (exhausting himselfs), he should be able to regenerate much faster and his endurance while searching should also not be disregarded…
That all added together I do believe his chances are really good to find her before them… And our super genius among genius made a bad choice in confronting them, which is much worse…

But I think the reason this happens, is because it would be boring if he finds her before them, then goes into hiding. Well to create some action and tension this must happen… (esspecially if we look at the fact that SH started to make their crazy moves and went out to slaugther 7tiles and TD) … So to create some action he + xiao wu has to face them…. It would be too boring if he and xiaowu dodge them, then goes hiding and cultivate til 90+ title douluo and then face spirit hall, crushing them completely… though it would be nice lol…

        • I want to point out few things from your post.
You are correct about that Tang San doesn’t know about Spirit Hall’s latest actions.
During the chapter Yan said that other spirit masters can enter the forest after half a year so that time is SH’s estimate for search either for whole forest or inner parts only. You think TS could find Xiao Wu faster alone?
Speaking of which I started thinking could TS probably use his 1500 meter spirit range like radar? That would speed up the search quite a bit.
And of course there is TS’s mental tiredness that using Blue Silver Domain causes which is reason why he tried to cultivate before SH showed up for my understanding.
But I agree with last part of your post.

          • Interesting point, now that you mention it, I really forgot about the half year thingy…
After thinking about it, yes it can be true that they may need to search for half a year, since it’s that big…
But it’s kind of hard to believe, since it seems he passed the outer part in matters of days and already reached the inner parts… Also the half year part can be an overestimation… or some random nonsense he just said…. since he himself doesn’t know how long it will takes.. But this is all speculation.. you are actually right, the forest can be too big for us to imagine… (actually it’s also a fact, since when pontif asked about it, when she got report of assault 7tiles, it was said the group is at it, but since forest is this big it takes time)..
=> one funny thing to point out, Hu Lienna was with the pontif at this time (even calming her, about the losses of spirit Hall) and then reappearing with the searching troup… lol I don’t know how but… well somehow..

            Like

            • I totally forgot that Liena was next to Bibi when the report about attack came. And bibi also asked about the search. One possibility is that she was send to accompany the douluos later but plot hole is also possibility.

and ofc it’s not stated that how many days it took for TS to reach the forest. And it took him one day of fast movement to reach the border of 10k beasts. So we can estimate that the forest is huge.

              Like

              • Oh and about my own estimation of forest size; I think it’s fair to estimate TS’s fast movement speed (if not running) to be at least on a par with 100meter dasher(~10m/s = 36 kph) so with 1 day time (16-ish hours if not full 24 hours) it would be 576 (864) km… and that’s just outer parts of forest (10-1k/10k spirit beast habitats).
And I think inner parts is at least as huge on radius. so if we think that inner forest as a circle with radius of 576 it’s area would be ~3600 km2.
try to search that with day or two even with TS’s Blue Silver Domain 500 meter diameter search area (r=250m -> A=0,19625km2) (that would take ~18 343 area points across the inner forest)
Of course what TS (and SH luckily) doesn’t know is that there is lake at middle of the forest where they can find Xiao Wu and other 100k spirit beasts.

                Like

                • Haha nice, did you just calculated the circle surface area haha,…
Well its hard to say how big the inner radius is compared to the outer… (but good estimation of the size, makes it more visible just how big the forest can be).
I have to admit if he goes alone it is essentially a gamble… The thing that supports tagging along with SH, is there is basically no chance that if they find xiao wu, he would miss it. So he will be 100% able to defend her if worst case happens (though whether he would succeed is another question)…

                  Like

            • Well, but SH doesn’t know, that she is in the inner part of the forest, so they have to search the outer part as well, while Tang San only has to walk in a straight line towards the inner part.

As for Tang San being faster if he searches alone: not necessarily. I think the fact that he has to be vary of strong spirit beasts makes up for his speed and better perception, since there isn’t much that can threaten the SH team in this forest, while there are severyl things that can threaten Tang San.

              Like

              • Yea that’s true! (Though his observation capabilities should still be of great help.)
But is it enough of a reason to join them !?… No matter how many facts are presented, I find this decision questionable… his spirit will give him away, unless he doesn’t plan on using them … which I doubt this is possible since we are in the middle of a spirit beast forest… they may even want him to show what he has got in him, especially if HL speaks highly of him, or let him hunt his own beast in front of them, if they let him tag along… Him being CS will 100% be exposed, which is here already the case (also HL already knows).

So as soon as they want to see his spirit rings (assuming they don’t kill him right away since he is from CS [though he is counting on HL to prevent this, so I will let this go]) what can he show? his black 10k 4th ring? XDD?… maybe he can deny it and just use his Tang sect martial arts + hidden weapons… which is still somehow suspicious (added to the fact they will at least be cautious around him, since he is from CS + joining them in the middle of the forest when they are on this important mission [that dude already got to the point stating the possibility of him hindering their mission])

Even if it works out, the atmosphere must be very very strange, I’m looking forward to that.

Plotwise, this is the most interesting decision Tang San could make). I just pointed out some things in the analyses that I didn’t agree with. I think he plans on only using his Clear Sky Hammer, since he already revealed himself as CS. As for the Spirit Rings, no idea on how he plans to cover that up. SInce he already declared that he is level 60…

Maybe, and I’m guessing here, they will find Xiao Wu and there will be a fight. Tang San, Xiao Wu and the two 100,000 year old spirit beasts will destroy the Spirit Hall group, but Tang San will ask them to spare Hu Liena?

And thanks for the chapter, Sir Bagelson.

    • If you take the translations as cannon, the manga is definitely not accurate. I would rate it at around ~75% accuracy.

There are a few trends, generalized across a dozen or so translated and mangarized series, that apply in the case of Doulou Dalu.
      1) There’s a lot less brutality in the manga – a lot less death, and things like rape and torture are glossed over, if mentioned at all. (Notable example is how the Fiend Team was butchered in the Translation but only knocked out in the manga)
      2) The manga is much less sexual. Oscar’s “sausages” becomes Tofu or some other crap, and there is no mention of MaHonJin frequenting brothels in the manga.
      3) The manga version of the characters don’t explain their actions, or the “explanations” are shortened, altered versions of the original explanations. As a result, they are usually more impulsive, immature and don’t explain their actions.
      4) There’s a lot less depth in the manga. The cut out a lot of small details.

    • How? SH accepted and helped her when she was an Orphan… somewhere (I think right after slaughter city, when she was tormented about San being from CS) she stated that what she owes SH can’t be paid back at a life time…
It’s hard to imagine her leaving SH, especially since she respect her teacher, and knows how much she invested into her, added now that she has risen to be the next pontif.
I think some readers hate because she is in SH (and they hate SH)… It’s hard to say she is not a bad person, because in Slaughter city she killed a lot, and the hate towards shrek she showed is no less mild (somewhere saying she would skin them if she met them again or something similar, because how much trouble her team faced after losing to them)… But the thing is, since she fell in love with San, she showed much kindness (and passing the tests San used to confirm she is not ill-willed during their cooperation and earning his confirmation => which resulted into him even saving her (after he was practically cold blooded in this kill city for two years and when reaching bottom of the hell road where his killing intent peaked, opting to save her, I think his impression of her is rather good, since its no easy feat (and he would probably only opt to harm her if some crazy situation regarding xiao wu’s safety requires it)… when exiting hell road, he knew they are enemies (saying: next time we see, we may be enemies) because of spirit hall, rather than against her.
So this is a difficult situation for her, because as previously said, its difficult for her to leave SH.

If she knew when he was the lover boy in slaughter city, I KNOW she would have tried to kill him then. She was unstable. Tang San was the benevolent one since he had no reason to cure her poison NOR get her out of slaughter city. If she found out now and still defended him because of love then MAYBE, I could feel some compassion for her but now? Naw. She is apart of an organization that is mass murdering thousands of people. For WHAT? Secondly, she tried to kill him and his friends, just because they are talented and Bibi was scared of powers outside of her control. BLINDLY following Bibi Dong’s words. Why kill them? If you made friends, like now, then MAYBE you could get them on your side but she burned that bridge long ago right at the start with Grandmaster. Also, Hu is going to capture the woman he loves? So because Hu Liena likes him, he should let Spirit Hall kill her? Tang San, right now clearly doesn’t hate her and has no intention of killing her even though he knows what kind of woman she is. That is PLENTY if you ask me. In my opinion he should have killed the fox long ago.

(In comment above when someone hoped for her leaving SH I commented on how hard it is, and her situation between her, spirit hall and San, if you are interested you should read it)…
First of all, it is true that what was shown during the finals and a little afterwards was definitely not a person to sympathize with… but it’s also not something to hate about, since after all they were the enemy’s/antagonist, added that they are part of spirit hall and spirit hall had something against them, it’s understandable they would try hard to fight against them. (Don’t forget the dialogue between pontif+duoluo and them 1day before the finals > they would have attend some crazy punishment (forgot name of that place) if they were to lose, so its obviously they would try hard to fight against shrek, additionally since its the finals and they also wants to win, since they are part of spirit hall, of course the represent their interest, nothing wrong with that rigth? And since thats the case showing merci for enemy is absurd right? During the tournament shrek also didn’t show merci many times… be it elephant or imperal 2nd team (although they had reasons)… never mind.. but what about the team of the dude who tried to assassinate san and failed ? San of course had a grudge against their team,.. but shrek didn’t besides the prior word fights… shrek didn’t know of assassination attempt and participated in turning them into vegetables (although it was sans doing) it didn’t seem that they felt that bad about it… so rather than spirit hall team not showing merci, it would be even more twisted if they showed mercy… But even if it was indicated that she is a bad and ruthless person for the sake of being shrek enemies, and a person the readers should hate… (though as I said, I think it was justified)… what she showed afterwards is what counts (since the previous stuff that was shown is not enough to picture her)… either it is that afterwards while in Slaughter city (when we get to know her more) she showed her true self, or that she changed… (both due to San),… I really got the impression she is not a bad person at all. When they first met she even saved him, you remember? why was that? don’t tell me in a split second she decided “oh he is handsome, I have to save him” => it was right after she was ambushed, and notice the sneak attack… it was in a matter of seconds,.. I think this clearly says something.. (since of limited information beforehand, we can’t really know her besides being the enemy team from shrek, and also members of spirit hall)…

So i clearly disagree into hating her, just because she is from SH. Also the Mass-Murder stuff just happened recently.. was 100% the decision of the pontif alone… Anyway I think yes the organization is clearly something that’s dislikeable… and maybe action of the pontif.. But it says nothing about it’s member…( I want to point out, lets say I live in that world, and in some ways awakened spirit powers to be a spirit master, I think it is very normal if i opt to join spirit hall, since they provide stipendia, have nice church, everything seems holy and well nice… joining them and becoming a member is actually something I see as normal… But what if spirit hall has enemies… well as member it’s probably also normal to particpate and represent them with good conscience (since they often hide the ugly stuff or top secret stuff)… if spirit hall provided me much, as spirit master I will feel the need to return something…. but lets say if they opt for mass murder and stuff I disagree with, my only option is to say… ok I leave, I’m not fine with this.. since it’s not like I as a single person can wage war against them… similar with society… lets say you are not happy with what your government is doing (which happens a lot), what can you as single person do… other people from other country may say the people of your country are crap… and all the stuff.. but its not justified right, just because you live there…

And she participating in capturing xiao wu is actually also something normal, since she is a spirit beast… (i advise to read another comment above, when I commented about why it is bad to for San to confront them in the forest rather than looking for her on her own…)

      • Mercy to the enemy huh? The way I saw it, the Shrek seven had absolutely no desire to kill anyone from spirit hall. They weren’t an enemy. Tang san alone was a “potential threat” nothing more. That mas murder thing just happened? Uh no. They mobilised hundreds of men just to kill him alone at the sacrifice of the other children and participants in the competition. I see something severly wrong with this. They broke the rules to get SH to win at any cost AND they were going to kill them in the final match. At no point in time did ANYONE from Shrek seven side want to kill anyone from SH. So mercy had nothing to do with this. They were planning to kill in cold blood in plain sight so im unable to understand what you are talking about.
Hu also saved Tang becuase at the time he seemed “normal” but not becuase she’s nice. She also is in love. She is kind NOW and to HIM because she love him. Her character is the same. Tang san crippled the team because they tired to kill him. Uhof course he would. They were murderers and it was against the rules (and the way I see it, SH wouldnt have cared if they succeded) I dont see where you are going with this. Also you do realise that bibi threatened them into murdering right? And you find nothing odd about the place and woman you serve? Never once has they been antagonising SH. Finally, Xiao Wu is going to get killed because shes a spirit beast. I get that. So he must deceive the people who can’t obviously see reason. They dont care. But not every one is like that. Hmm for instance… Idk everyone else. It goes to show not everyone is willing to kill her because shes a sprirt beast. Two clear sky leaders fell in love with Tang Sans mother and one had a son. They could have killed got her spirit bone and her ring you know. They don’t HAVE to. But they are power hungry. That is all.

        • I really really agree with Krozam, that there is not much difference between them (since many times when reading, I often wonder and ask myself the Question: wtf San, do you really need to go that far?

// I just notice that my text got way too long again, anyone who dislike reading personal opinion should pass this…

          Example:
Well I get that in Asian country children are more likely to pay much respect to their parents [it’s not a bad thing though], I think the author certainly is somewhat influenced by that (and other cultural stuff, maybe communism or..idk.. one boy one chick lol)… which is often reflected in the novel… anyway what I want to say is that each time San’s parents is somewhat insulted, the usual calm San gets overly impulsive and basically goes for the kill and try’s to retaliate or punish… certainly it is not a nice thing if your parents get insulted… but I think he overreacts here..way too much…maybe it’s me being a (western) douche … since here they are even jokes about moms… never mind.. the point is that when he overreacts (or not, depends on each persons tolerance level, which differs here, but imo he does) he acts impulsive (which is not necessary a bad thing) … but for me it somehow feels like San uses this as an excuse to do bad stuff or at least justify killing… it may not feel like that (since respecting parents and stuff is honorable).. but i feel like the author is sugarcoating it too much… => example: if in real life someone insults your mum, and you kill kim or turn him into vegetable… does that feel right?… thats what Iam trying to say,… he is equally doing bad stuff (only justified from his point of view… but spirit halls action is from it’s point of view probably also justified…..)
At the end of the day killing is still killing…

… before tournament even started, and Grandmaster introduced the rules, he explicitly said that deliberate killing or crippling your opponent is not allowed… (well I for my point would immediately agree).. but guess what,.. they didn’t all, because they know if strong enemies pop up… it might not be a good idea to hold back…and some other even arguing that goes against their principle to hold back against enemy or something like that… so much regarding.. no intention to kill

Similar when I said “showing mercy”.. well Iam not native english speaker…maybe my message got a little distorted because of this… my original message is more like: with the intention to kill, or strong desire to win and overwhelm/beat your opponent,.. not showing mercy / holding back or not going all out to win… would be twisted/strange.. that’s what I meant…

AND YES SH is really doing a lot of ruthless stuff, to obtain what they want, I NEVER tried to deny that… thats why I also agree with you tellestarle… and don’t mind you hating them…

But I want to point out, that SH team didn’t kill the nephew of grandmaster, during quarter finals… Also I believe their secret mission was only to kill TS… I don’t think they wanted to complete obliterate shrek… but I didn’t paid too much attention… Also them cheating and Teaming up with Fireblaze team, I believe this was huo wu’s proposal…
Also (I don’t want to defend spirit hall, because as I said they indeed do bad stuff).. that during the raid in the forest… I believe their only Target was TS… letting the old couple go, also the attacking spirit master didn’t use their spirit rings… (it may also be because they wanted to hide their identity… but equally because their only target was TS).. I believe the Title douluo Chry.. something even permitted to let go of the other shrek members… (ok this may also be because of the herbs… man… never mind).. they do a lot of stuff… but I think it’s all against TS…. not necessary against the others… (I don’t know why they hate him that much… maybe just because of him being CS … Bibi hates them I believe because of her master).. other reason is if spirit hall didn’t want to kill TS the story would be much more boring lol… so I don’t even really hate spirit hall lol… and I don’t hate any of SH team, since they are their dogs… I don’t think I hate anyone… maybe the previous pontif… (but idk much about him/her)

BTW what TS did in slaughter City is what I call mass murder,.. even dropping that killer herb when leaving, just cause he doesn’t think that place should exist… in the arena crushing the heads of every enemy lol … what a saint lol….

When they discovered that xiao wu was 100k beast, they continued the ceremony, only at the end they wanted to catch her… did they use it as excuse to obliterate shrek? If yes I would probably have a reason to hate SH… it was rather xiao wu that I hated… (Girl you know you are a 100k beast, yet you walk into capital of SH?? how dumb are you lol… you even lived 100k years.. no wisdom?.. After 10k yrs Spirit beast start to develop intelligence.. my ass….)

Man each time I get wayy to much into this… I apologize that made you read all that… I hope I don’t need to comment again… anyway thanks for reading…

PS: Sorry, I’m king of “off-topic”.. well I guess everyone here is used to read much… given the fact that the novel is quite long… and there are no new chapters anyway T.T .. so hopefully not much problem caused….. unless you deem my opinion as crap…..sorry.. then

Never once have i said anyone was wrong or whatnot. Just giving my take on the story. Still I don’t hate Hu nor SH in general I just don’t sympathise with her just becuase tang san is deceiving her. (Which. I think we have deviated from ahaha) but i also said in other comments that TS is no saint. I never thought that. Not once. Still I think most people for some reason is partial toher rather than Xiao wu and not thinking objectively. So I pointed out several things apart from the obvious which is to protect Xiao wu that makes me understand that I could care less if she was hurt by his actions. He doesn’t like her romantically. Sexually. Yes. Severely. Lol but love? No. No need to be nice just becuase she is sweet on him is what I was getting at.

Thats why I thought I should add my 2 cents,… partly because I see it differently and partly to defend her from injustice… but since it’s everything except crystal clear, I had to put forward my arguments/thought process as close as possible… and were also curious to see other viewpoints, since I may very well be wrong… never thought I would write this much lol… seems like once I start I won’t stop until every thought is written down… some bad habit lol

      • Indeed, the author is not even trying particularly hard to make Tang San and his friends strictly “good” and the enemies “evil”. This is a world where power is respected above all. A world where vengeance is the norm when you or someone close to you is hurt/killed, whether it’s justified or not, so leving your enemies alive is often not very wise. Both the Spirit Hall and Tang San’s group are living by these principles, most of the time. We’re cheering for Tang San’s side because the story is told from his perspective (and because he’s not a total jackass) and that makes it somewhat easy to hate his enemies. But, if you look at things objectively, often there’s not all that much difference in the way the two sides act towards each other.

I feel like Slaughter City was something the author introduced (how tang san killed the whole freaking pub place before entering slaughter city, that one just hit you in the face right away) to in a way prepare the readers that from here on out there would be quite a number of deaths happening.

Forgot to tell why I said that Tang San can get those 2 more rings (from ape and dragon)… Well his hammer still has no spirit and I cant remember in what chapter it was said, but basically after his 6 or 7 ring he was told by Tang Hao that he can get few rings on hammer. So hammer first two rings are 100,000 year old and from apie and dragon (mighty beast for mighty hammer)

        • Well maybe it sounds a bit like spoiler, but manga ends here in this forest with no final outcome…

I checked their are only 236 chapters on novel…

So that 1 year tournament sounds like a good reason to end all this…

          my guess is that…

This forrest chapter will last ~ 10 chapters,
          20 chapters tournament,
20 chapters battle with spirit hall,
          10 chapters training for tournament /// preparation…

And like I said best time for Clear Sky sect to appear is tournament, that means by that time Tang San has to be sect leader… And 3 requirements for it all of them can be done in this forest… Unless their are some plot twist.

The speed at which he released those chapters was at times downright superhuman so even if this is just him taking a break I d certainly be okay with it.
He is not required to translate this at your or my whims and I see no reason to claim he lacks respect. You could try becoming a bit more patient.

Truthfully I discovered the manhua before I learned of the translated light novel and I’m happy I started reading this as well as others. Gotta say I enjoy them both though. Preference wise the novel is better but I like me some pictures.

  17. Alright, I read through the comments and nobody addressed this so here goes: How have the trio not recognized him? Obviously his physical appearance and temperament are different, but he has 1 huge giveaway, his hammer has no rings. He said he broke through to 60th rank but his hammer has no rings (if you remember from earlier you stay at the x9th rank until the ring is claimed before progressing to next rank(s)) this means that he has to have twin spirits. And as grandmaster said earlier, in order to have twin spirits the 2 spirits have to be about equal… So this is probably the first or one of extremely few people with a twin spirit and clear sky hammer. Yet they don’t guess it at all.
The only explanations that are occurring to me atm are 1) they don’t know as much about twin spirits, 2) They forgot some details about Tang San, 3) Plot armor.

    1) would be plausible since twin spirits aren’t well known, except Bibi Dong is one, and I’m sure she taught then at least some about jt.
    2) I don’t think is very plausible because he definitely left a huge impression on all of them.
    3) seems the most plausible to me, either that or they simply didn’t (or couldn’t) see that no rings came out of his hammer

    Like

    • I hope i dont have a huge gap in my memory here but if i remember right the release of a spirit without the release of the rings is possible. So him having the hammer out without showing spirit rings and not drawing attention from that should be ok 🙂
If im wrong then yes then this is a huge plot hole because a youth at rank 60 at this age with the clear sky hammer and no rings on it there couldnt be something more obvious.

      Like

      • I don’t remember there being anything like that, and generally whenever their spirits appear the rings do too, so I’m leaving towards plot hole

        Like

        • Well you can’t really say anything right now because the chapter ended before they could respond so you have no idea if they actually did notice or whether or not Tang San has a way to trick them into thinking he’s fine.

        • No he can release tool without rings. But before that, it is true that not many people know about Twin spirits… but I also believe them forgetting him is unlikely.. but what I strongly think is that the information about both spirit needs to have equal levels is quite unknown.. even TS for the most part thought that river grass was inferior before Grandmaster told him……

Iam sure people can release tool without rings… thats also what Hu Lienna did when she released her tail in hell road (no spirit power could be used there).. TS could also use his river grass.. but he didn’t because he didn’t want her to know… but he later did after she fainted to bind her… The only thing that’s strange, would be that he would pack out his hammer, but not the ring… since he already intend to use it if he packs it out… (even if he can hide the rings…)… that brings me to another point: why I hate him confronting them rather than looking for Xiao wu on his own… he says something he can inform & find her ahead of them.. but since he can’t use his ability… I don’t think this is a wise idea…

          Like

          • I’m pretty sure hi liena’s tail is a spirit bone, hence why she could use it…
I did forget that the hammer is a tool spirit so maybe that does bridge it cause he could pull it out without rings… I’ll have to reread some parts of it but that is a very plausible bridge

Even a paid subscription would not be out of the question for me. That being said, I really am not trying to criticize… I’m just putting my thoughts out there. Stop forcing him to release more often, let him do it when it want to, the translations will be better and the project will never go cold.

The exact same wording was used back on Stellar Transformations and its been dropped and picked up like 4 times now. So quit it and STFU.

    • Here is a question have you ever tried to do a Weekly Translation it is not as easy as one thinks, its the equivalent of being a High school Literature professor with over 99% of the sentences having major grammar flaws not to mention punctuation cultural terminologies and more, and this is just the basic translating it from Foreign language to English, this is not taking into to account the steps for editing and refining it to where it actually makes logical sense when you read it. That is just the tip of the Glacier my friend as someone who has done work as a translator for how many pages Bagelson has done in a Week it is nearing the edge of professional and he is doing it as a Hobby cut him some slack and yes there may be others who would like to do the translations, but what your saying is also taking a 2 meter long rusty sword and stabbing it into the self-esteem and pride of the translator. So think about what your saying and put yourself in his shoes he has been working on Douluo Dalu for a few years now while going to school and other things his efforts has turned his translations into a form of art and you are shamelessly attacking it like all the other ignorant Baffoons. It can easily take most translators to fully translate and edit a page 5 hours on average and yet he is doing 15 or so a week as a normal. For that Dedication and Skill and effort I hold Bagelson in High regards and respect and he is one of the people who inspired me to try doing translations.

  32. I can understand some of the frustration others have expressed, since this is pure translating and not cleaning/typesetting/etc that a manga requires. It is also more text to translate than any manga would require, but overall the expectation of more than 1 chapter a week isn’t outrageous. Those of you who keep railing on people asking for a release schedule or faster updates need to take your nose out of bagelson’s ass and realize that this is normal when a series is beloved by the readers.

Bagelson, I appreciate all the work you’ve done here and I would wait for your translations over some half-cocked attempt by another translator, even if you took a month between releases. I just hope your skin isn’t thin enough to actually let the pressure of your readers get to you. It is a form of flattery with the occasional petulant child mixed in. Definitely not a horde of ungrateful people. Thanks again, eagerly awaiting the next installment!

  33. First, to the translator:
Thanks for the chapter, I hope you can translate more. I like the trans very much and I’d like to say that it’s difficult to find so good translations.
    Second:
I started reading in yhis wsite but found the manwha and I’d like to know if ig it is worth to be read.
    Third:
Sorry if you can’t understand me, my english is bit rough

    • You’ll get varied opinions on that, most people I’ve seen comment were of the opinion that the manhua is the more lacking side. They change quite a bit, add some things, remove some things, generally make a more “sanitized” version of the story for a younger audience. Still though, it’s a different medium.

Do beware, the manhua is still a little bit ahead of this translation, so there may be spoilers.

  35. I still cant get over how retarded tang was, for not letting her die instead of saving her, and helping one of his strongest enemies get stronger. Its just to retarded no matter how you look at it.

  36. Love really makes ppl blind. There r so many things TS didn’t consider, he is worried that Xiao Wu is in trouble but I wonder did he ever take into account Xiao Wu’s identity as a 100k spirit beast, wut her nature is like nor did he take into account, Xiao Wu’s standing inside the forest. Him doing this is basically pushing Xiao Wu into a dangerous situation. I don’t know if it applies to spirit beasts but Beast in general they don’t use eyes to tell someone, they use sense of smell more. Their sense of smell is higher than most humans that’s how they are different from humans. Next, spirit beast are not as adept at scheming like humans. If Xiao Wu were to see TS with SH ppl, wut would she ever think, especially there Hu Liena, stupid fool. Aside from that, there’s Title Douluo like someone mention how will he scheme with their eyes on him?
