    • And dammit!! If there is no new chapters before next week… I really should try to read only one chapter per day so the period without new chapter would be shorter… Like today with 4 chapters. 1/day would have lasted till Wednesday.

    • No, as the footnotes mention, it’s not prince as in “member of the royal family”, but a non-dynastic prince. It’s not a concept common in the English tradition, but it was used in France and other countries on the continent.

  46. King Lan Huo.. The MC in DD2 is called “Huo Yuhao”. May be the two of them are related somehow. interesting, the plot thickens. Also, I liked the author bringing seven devils down a notch. That was necessary. however, chapter 198 felt a bit rushed. So many different plots running in the same story.

    • Nope, Huo is a surname in dd2, but a given name in tang sans title. Also, I think Lan Huo is a play on his two spirits.

    cuman saya pikir ada cerita yang sangat bertele2 karena saya sudah membaca sebagian cerita versi bahasa mandarin hingga akhir … yang mana tang san akan menjadi seorang dewa laut ( sea God ) dimana sebelum tang san menjadi dewa atau level 100 dia akan melawan dewa angel ( angel god ) …dalam pertarungan tersebut dangat membosankan karena ceritanya bertele-tele … karena klimaknya gak habis2 … dimana tang san melawan angel god berkali-kali ,,,, gak langsung to the point ,,, dalam sebagian cerita di bagian akhir ,,tang san akan melawan angel god and devil god ( hu leina ) …. tang san akan mati … akan tetapi akan dihidupkan lagi (resurection ) oleh oscar dan ning rongrong yang sudah mencapai level 90-an ,,, dan akan melawan kembali kedua god tersebut …. saya pikir akhir ceritanya kurang bagus …. terkesan biasa ,,,, angel god and devil akan dikalahkan oleh sea god ( tang san ) and xia u ..

    • they weren’t really supposed to do anything, GM and Sword Douluo expected them to lose.

      GM was trying to teach them a little humility but considering they have noone among their peers who is their equally in any regard he needed Sword Douluo to step in and show them the gap that remains between their current strength and “true powers”.

  56. if he is now “prince” which in reality is between duke and grandduke but his authority is three ranks above. then doesn’t that mean that he now have the same authority as a arcduke or even close to that of a king.
    i have seen many outstanding MCs in my days but this guy takes the cake

  77. I have been reading for a while. I started on the manga and loved it. Then I read the story here and was realized that it is farther and so much better. If there is on thing I can say about this series is that it is addicting, and for you guys to translate this for us so that we don’t have to decipher it ourselves, I can not thank you enough. I have wanted to say thanks for a while, but it wouldn’t be enough. Nevertheless, there is nothing else I can do XD so I will be a good little consumer and say, Thanks! 😀

    • Dude same here! I read the Manga and then I thought that I would check out the light novel, and man can I say that I was blown away! It is indeed so addicting. Right now I am growing anzy for the next set of releases, so I haunt this webpage day and night. (You know what that sounds kinda creepy but tis true). Great respect and thanks to you translators!

    • Well to be fair, we all know Bagel can be quite a freak in speed and with their schedule site we can see Bagel choose to translate ch.202 the 16/02/20 and yet it’s not done. What do that tell you ? It mean something happened, it can be anything. Break, catching up on other novel, video game, family matter, simply being lazy (yeah you got that right, not doing anything count as doing something :p), and an endless list of thing than could have happened.

      Basically anon is just asking whether anything wrong happened to either of them. 🙂 (Well it’s what i think anyways)

    What are the chances that you take over from Bagel, and then release 1-2 chapters a week. Heck you could start a donation thing or work with wuxiaworld.

    Bagel kind of doesn’t care about a schedule and thats fine for normal people, but not crack addicts. Crack addicts need their crack.

    • Stop trying to stir up trouble, mate. I know you’re most likely trolling, but seriously it’s not helping. He does care about his schedule. It’s okay to inquire as to when the next chapter is going to be. Trying to incite a person into poaching a project especially one that has such a high quality as this one is not.

      Seriously, out of all translators, Bagelson’s releases are if not the best, then close to it. Would I appreciate it if he sped up a bit more? Sure, I’d love that, but you also have to keep in mind that every chapter of Douluo Dalu is almost three times the length compared to other novels, so the translation speed isn’t as slow as it might seem.

      I’ll go back to anxiously waiting for the update in silence, and while you don’t have to do the same, please stop trying to ruin a good thing.

        • Nope. Its basically stealing it from someone else. If Bagelson handed it off, that would be one thing, but I do not want him to. I personally would like to see Bagelson finish this entire series! The dude deserves some respect for sticking to this thing for over a year. Saying that someone else should do it, is basically saying that you do not appreciate what he has already done.

  94. i sincerely miss the days when bagel was doing like daily releases, and translating with the speed of a god. Knowing that this is just a hobby, i’m really glad you have partnered up with other translators in order to still get us chapters here and there when it’s not your top priority as it is justa hobby. That being said, some form of regularity in releases or at the very least the occasional announcement of what might be going on in your actual every day life would be a great service to the community that has built upon reading the story you have brought to us. Could save the f5 army from some days of mashing f5 because they’ve been made aware of what is going on. (I also don’t necessarily just mean the occasional comment on somebodies comment, but like a post that goes in a chapter slot that shows up on front page. Just a thought. I know you went to “sporadic for a while,” but we dont know how long that while is at all)

For anyone complaining why chapters aren’t done please stop! Are we not aware of exams, jobs, family obligations & general life demands that people deal with on the regular. These translators aint your bitches so please stop with the negative comments. If i have to wait 6-7yrs for a song of ice & fire release then you can wait a GOD DAMN WEEK!

        • To give this away to someone else at this point, would be to dishonor what Bagelson and company have done so far. He has been translating for 14 months now and has been giving this freely without complaint or negativity. Also I have been following since chapter 34 and the waits in between chapters has actually made it all the more addictive!

    • Well, I suffered two weeks of withdrawl, I think I may survive another week if neccessary.

      And I think they might get 10 or 20 Levels for the arch, and I think that will probably be the enough for them to face even most of the Titled Doulou.

      If I understood the last Chapters enough, they are already at a point where they can hurt them.
