I actually don’t like that Rongrong had a harder trial than Oscar did. Wasn’t he supposed to have even greater talent than she did? Instead he’s a level below her.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Although, that was before her spirit evolved to the nine tile pagoda. I think the nine tile pagoda is special enough to be worth the peak level trial, but I am still annoyed that it feels like Oscar has been slighted.
different spirit oscar is food class buff/fighter but he still can fight and defense himself after got 6x skill
Rongrong on the other hand is strongest and only one have nine tile pagoda+ fully active buffer without any skill to fight and defense herself . and in future without her buff tangsan can’t even pass 7th test
I know right?! Rongrong only has a high potential because of the herb Tang San gave her, causing her to obtain the Nine Tile Pagoda. Otherwise she would just be stuck behind the rest. Also, in the very beginning she wasn’t hardworking at all, while Oscar worked his ass of to train (especially after he met her ;))
But everybody received a herb from Tang San with the associated benefits. Actually, Tang San is the one who has received the most benefits from immortal herbs. After all, he ate three (if I remember correctly).
And Fatty has never been as hardworking as the rest and still got black level six tests and nobody is complaining about that. Also, while she might not have been as hardworking as Oscar in the beginning, she must have been working even harder than him recently, after all, how else would she have been able to catch up with him despite being younger?
What I really don’t understand, though, is why Zhu Zhuqing ist the only Shrek Seven Devil to receive lower difficulty than the rest. Despite the fact that she is the youngest and still has the same level as everybody else (except for Fatty)
It isn’t based on talent, but comprehension. Rongrong is definitely above Dai and Oscar in comprehension; She can split her mind up like 4-5 different ways!
Second. It stopped, for Rongrong, at Black six tests. Then ‘that black magic line that seemed to have already stopped, suddenly moved up one step.’ So her talent was actually black level six tests, but the Sea God was like ‘Oh you want seven? Here’s Seven.’
Really? You think Rong Rong is ahead in comprehension? So I take it you don’t remember the multiple times the author has said Oscar was the smartest of the Seven Devils after Tang San. Not that it said comprehension in the first place – it was potential. Potential is supposed to be related to innate spirit power, and Oscar was level 10 over Rong Rong’s level 9.
Well, but potential also includes how far you grow. And RongRong is definitely growing faster than Oscar. Otherwise she wouldn’t have caught up to him despite being younger.
Don’t you forget that the seagod guys has a sense of humour and seem to grasp a pretty thorough idea of each of the seven devils including there relationships as seen with fatty girl/not girl so I believe he is just like “I’m going to have a little fun and humble Oscar and his arrogance towards rongrong” not to mention rongrong is highly stubborn 😂
Tang San would be the kid who somehow gets a 110 on a test that didn’t have any bonus questions. Even if it breaks all known rules he always manages to one up everyone else.
‘Although he had not seen the high priest for ten years, on this Seagod Island, Bo Saixi was a supreme existence. Only if the Seagod himself personally appeared could she be second.’
‘His eyes clear, with not a hint of retreating, Bo Saixi solemnly said: “From now on, you must remember. On this Seagod Island, no one is qualified to receive your courtesy, that includes myself.”’
These two sentences rather explicitly suggest that whatever Tang San will be in the future, he will have authority equal to that of the Sea God when he finishes his tests. So when the head worshipper of that very God says that to him, I would take it as fact. I suppose he could become another God, but it’s the Sea God that they worship.
The interesting thing is, since one red test must be completed in a year, and Xiao Wu’s single test is to accompany Tang San, does it mean that he must complete all nine of his tests in a year?
Originally I thought this island arc would not have been too long, but now I’m starting to wonder if it will be as long as the one at shreck academy, or if it will be even longer
They’re going to at least need to be Spirit Douluos in order to clear their trials, if not Title Doulous, so this should take a pretty long time. Unless they just time skip the entire thing – that’s entirely possible as well. I’d be disappointed if we didn’t get to see all of their trials, though. Story time should be at least a few years either way.
I don’t know if I’d be disappointed or excited, in case of a timeskip. Following the trials would meen following their progression, their discovery of their new abilities (that’s expecially true for tang san. the changes in his body are so much in number and complexity that you gotta follow them step by step if you want to understand them). On the other end, having a title duoluo tang san face against spirit hall would be so epic I’d probably keep smiling for 24 hours after having red it. And I’m wondering how are things going on the continent during their absence
I’m guessing that by the end of this arc at least tang san would be a titled doulou since he probably needs to kill the damn whale in one of his trials. However thinking about this it would take years for them to finish all their tasks I wonder what would happen in the land world. Spirit hall is already so powerful maybe when the devils head back they might be greeted with an ongoing war..
even level 99 title spirit doulou can’t win again that whale spirit beast stronger than human at same level of spirit power atleast 30% . and you already know after level 95 each level stronger than previous 30%
so no way tangsan and seven devil can kill it iwithout tangsan reach level 95 and the rest reach level 90 + help + superpower weapons+v.v.v.v.
Never actually posted before but this is getting really interesting… I wonder how its going to turn out after this. Also which arc was the longest in a sense because I have a feeling this will end up being longer than the continental spirit master tournament.
Glad I decided to check just now! Reading those 4 chapters in a row was amazing! Tang San is awesome, he’s definitely been marked as the god successor or something badass! Can’t wait to see what trials they need to face on the island!
Movies you mean. There’s no way any decent semblance of this story could be told with a single theatrical release.
Let’s see…
Douluo Dalu: The film opens with Tang San 1.0 being accosted by Tang Sect over his violations… and then the MC suicides. Bait and switch protagonist? NAY! The scene shifts to 5 year old Tang San cultivating Purple Demon Eye up on the Hill, and the rest of the film is about Tang’s childhood.
Origins ends at the cliffhanger immediately before Tang’s fight against Zhao Wuji to enter Shrek Academy.
Douluo Dalu 2- Shrek: The film opens with Tang’s battle against Zhao Wuji and progresses their training and trials [including the Yin Yang Well and such] and growth up until the start of the Continental Spirit Masters Tournament.
Douluo Dalu 3- Continental Tournament: The entirety of the Tournament Arc, all the way until its conclusion.
Douluo Dalu 4- Evolution: The progress of Tang San into an adult, learning about his mother and evolving his Spirit from Blue Silver Grass to Blue Silver Emperor, his Training under the Waterfall, the adventure in Slaughter City and on Hell Road, and his education under his aunt. Spliced with scenes of Oscars own trials on the road and touching scenes of Rongrong and Xaio Wu waiting for their men.
Douluo Dalu 5- Reunion: Opens with the scheduled reunion, following with Tang’s desperate struggle to save Xaio Wu and her sacrifice on his behalf, culminating in the return of Oscar and his earning the formal approval of Uncle Ning.
Douluo Dalu 6- Tang Sect: Covers the challenges Tang encounters as he and a few friends forge the Tang Sect from the scraps left behind by the Clear Sky School’s retreat into seclusion. Culminates in Tang’s narrow victory over Qian Ren Xue.
The first 2 you indicated should be merged in to one movie, the first alone would not get an audience success high enough to justify a sequel. The most interesting part of the first arc of combat continent is tang san “old self” getting to understand the properties of this new world he has found himself into, but that’s very difficult to put on screen. You can’t really read the mind of a character in a movie, you got to explain things through action. Tang san before shreck doesn’t really have all that much action.
So… you feel that his introduction into the dorm [with his short-lived tenure as Dorm Boss and the introduction of Xiao Wu], their challenge against the elder students, Tang’s First Spirit Ring Hunt, their quest to find Shrek and Tang’s battle against Dai Mubai isn’t plentiful enough in action?
What you’re proposing would pretty much require all of that be skipped entirely to have enough film time to cover the Shrek arc.
I know, and I don’t like it more than you do, but the action you speak of isn’t flashy enough to make a box office. And the only kind of movie that would bring production to release so may sequels is a box office hit. The other option is to made a B movie out of it, or an animated production.
We must have different views of flashy. There is no way in hell that Tang taking out that Serpent Spirit Beast without even using a Spirit isn’t flashy.
Or him and xiao wu putting down the elder students.
Or his epic clash against the Evil Eye White Tiger.
I suppose rather than a cliffhanger prior to Zhao Wuji we could even stuff that encounter in at the end as an epic climax and give the movie closure.
I really wished that the manhua could have actually followed the story of the LN though, the LN’s detail is so good but the manhua screws it up by jumping all the progression.. Would really liked a pictured version of the LN. I don’t think a movie would be able to accurately show the details as it would be too long winded and not enticing for the general public, usually they are heavily edited story-lines.
thank you very much and this is my first time posting tbh if their making a douluo-dalu movie it has to be based off the novel not the manga the manga is more for kids and skips a lot of details out and lots of other things to if they do a movie id like to see the slaughter arena in it because that was just awesome.
There is just no way you can explain all the power and percentages and detail needed to make the series and characters enjoyable to watch in a movie setting. An anime as long and naruto would possibly do it justice or a tv series but not movie they always fail at movies
Does anyone know if these translation chapters match up with the original chapters? I believe there are ~330 original chapters… so 2/3rds done if so. Which means everything would be moving very quickly here…
Dont know if anyone mentioned it. But Tang isnt the successor of the seagod he currently is the seagod seeing as its pretty much inside
Him. The seep sea cosmic shroud holds the conscienceness of the seagod. Which was shown during the demonic whale fight. Which is also why his destiny and the islands are linked. Basically tang san has just added all of seagod island into the tang sext without wven knowing it. All he has to do is pass
He’s chosen as a successor. He’s not yet the Seagod. The VSCS is more like an item to notify the Seagod that a worthy successor has appeared. Though looking long term, you can say he’s already the Seagod because we all know he’ll succeed as there’s no other option.
I have a question for anyone that’s read the whole thing. Qin Meng, the teacher from the Heaven Dou Academy, graduate from Shrek, who left the HDA and joined Shrek as a teacher. Does he ever get mentioned again?
I find it odd that so far, the built him up a bit as a good senior, even showed his spirit when Shrek combined with the Blue Tyrant Academy teacher examination/application. Then he’s never mentioned again…
Huh, I really thought that their training on the island would be a bit more violent, like what oscar went through but it seems like its gonna be more like the usual ‘try hard and level up’ approach.
Thank for the chapters! Anyone who read the whole novel knows if they explain why tang san reincarnated and keep his memories when he jumped from hell’s peak? Sorry if any grammar mistake
If Tang San is Successor to SeaGod, what is supposed to happen WHEN Tang San and the Shrek Seven Devils (SSD) leave SeaGod Island and will one of Tang San’s spirits evolve to be aquatic in nature so he is like a Tool Spirit Master with gills on his body that he can use, or will his body grows gills while using them like his domains whenever he wants to due to the most recent changes within his body that occured when he was bathed in that Golden Light at the Seahorse Pillar when recieiving his SeaGod level/rank trials/tests?
Maybe he finds out that there was some silver Grass that evolved and lived in water. A sea plant.
This seems like a way of his silver grass still being strong after crippling his cultivation after helping his girl. I think this is what is going to happen.
Isnt Tang San supposed to GIVE UP his Blue Silver Grass/Emperor spirit since it has Xiao Wu’s spirit ring/soul as well as the Right Arm Spirit Bone from Xiao Wu to revive Xiao Wu to where her soul and body are connected again? So how would Tang San REPLACE IT with a VARIANT VERSION when the Blue Silver Emperor is The PATRIARCH/MATRIACH OF PLANT SPIRITS?!?! With Tang San being half SPIRIT-BEAST-TURNED-HUMAN because of his mother Ah Ying the Blue Silver Emperor plant type SPIRIT BEAST TURNED HUMAN?!?!
He was also supposed to have to catch some legendary plant spirit to restore Xiao Wu’s body, but he went and found a way around that. Ever since then I’ve been seriously doubting that he’ll actually have to give up his Blue Silver Emperor. Especially now that we’ve got a god in the equation, I’m sure he’ll hack his way around that requirement too. After all, anything that makes Tang San more broken is always possible, and anything that should weaken him will somehow make him stronger instead. It’s the rule.
Are you saying Tang San will just HAPPEN to find a second method of reviving a 100000 year old spirit beast turned human that commited self-immolation? That other 100000 year old spirit beasts never found out? Or even create a second method of revival himself? Like his Blue Silver Domain/Right Leg Spirit Bone can do for himself if he has enough time and spiritual power and if given the chance? (Distinctly remember something along those lines when focusing on Ah Ying’s part in Doulou Dalu)
Lol tang San is wrecking the curves again. Forget being the leader of the island, instead he’s taking tests to become a god! Always has to one up everyone else.
Comments with the word “spoiler” are automatically filtered. It’s crude and does affect innocents sometime, but it does stop about 70% of spoilers in comments.
I’m quite disappointed that my comments are gone, I’m sure that its not a spoiler, I just reviewed chapter 162 Hope for resurrection, it clearly states there the “method”, I just summarized it a bit. 😦 my comment about doing the tests less than 10 years is also gone, it can be deduced from the current chapter, the maximum time for them to finish each tests is a year, they can choose to complete each test in less than a year then proceed to the next so it won’t take that long.
[Hoping they won’t delete this one]
I must say that this site has the best translation but if your like me and you would rather finish the story. If you go to this site http://lnmtl.com/novel/douluo-dalu you can finish the book. It doesn’t have the best translation but it does have the rest of the chapters.
I’m disappointed that the site removed my comments I’m sure its not a spoiler. I just restated what I read from chapter 162 hope for ressurection, its about the method to revive xiao wu, and my opinion on the time span for the group in taking the test. How can that be a spoiler?? Huhu
Thank you again!

I love how romantic it is that xiao wu’s test is to stay by tang san’s side and I just love them so much so very much

I wonder where my comments are? I’m sure my comments are not spoilers. I feel kinda bad about it.

Huhu
