Happy to see the character of this sea dragon douluo has some composture. I’d like to think of the seven guardians as seven affable elders, but some of the previous ones acted more like nobles with more pride than wisdom or foresight.
For the trial reminder…the wrong way? Hopefully this won’t diminish his reward too much. After all, he’s also helped his comrades a lot, and he’ll certainly find a way to gain the two douluo’s approval.

So, if Sea Dragon Douluo can negate any domain, why did they say earlier that even he wouldn’t want to fight Sea Illusion Douluo? The most terrifying thing about him is his domain.
Actually he is referring to this from chapter 244: “Sea Illusion Douluo’s domain illusion could become a real situation instead of mere confusion. The attacks taken in the illusion were totally real, which was like a brand new world was created. Once lost or gravely injured inside the illusion without any recovery, then death in reality would ensue, making it very oppressive. Even the strongest of the pillar protectors, Sea Dragon Douluo, would not want to spar with him.”
I think it was meant more as a “even a lv 95 title douluo would not want to take this head on” instead of exactly Sea Dragon Douluo. I also don’t think the author wanted to give any hints about that anti-domain skill just yet and let us all be surprised by it.
I guess once you trapped inside the domain, you wouldn’t ever realized that you were there. So eventhough Sea Dragon Douluo has his terrifying domain, its become useless against Sea Mermaid Douluo. And when Tang San broke the domain’s effect, it’s all thanks to Xiao Wu’s reminder
I don’t understand how “being more powerful” changes anything about the Disorder Splitting Wind Dance. The issue with the swing taking him off balance can be negated I guess, but the whole thing about differing tempos he only managed to fix using teleportation…

Pretty much that they were equally matched in power or strength, that neither gained an advantage and instead the backlash cause both of them damage. even after using sea dragon body it isn’t enough to overpower tang san, or have enough defensive power to endure the backlash
His reward will be decreased by half, but then tripled at the same time making his sea god light 50% affinity. Also everyones next trial will be harder because they were opportunistic during the fifth… I wont say more, you will find out soon…
That’s such BS really. At one point Tang San being clever against those killer whales is fine but now that he’s clever for his mates and making sure he can finish the trials fast and efficient it’s “cheating”? Their ego got hit because they got bested by basically a kid (compared to them). On the battlefield later, his enemies won’t play nice either they should recognize and applaud his tactical intelligence.
He did fight them individually? They just ordered their fights in such a way that the Title Douluo first fought the others before Tang San. Their rules never stipulated that that wasn’t allowed. If all of them wankers gave their blessing the Sea God normally should have no reason to not give him the full reward. Again Tang San outsmarted them and they couldn’t handle that.
I think your all losing the TRUE test of this trial. It is meant for him to impress and gain the Guardians’ favor. Meaning do “they give him their blessing, to be their ‘god’ and watch over and protect the Island and all of the Ocean?” The main thing hear is that since he failed to do so with two of them, and them being either the most mentally feared among the Guardians, Illusion Douluo, ( who in my opinion yes he’s a bit of A**, but on the contrary he was almost killed by Tang San and in the process Xaio Wu got hurt.) or the second most physically powerful of the Guardians, Sea Lance Douluo. ( Who was completely manipulated by Tang San, so as the say in these Novels, this particular Douluo was not resigned in his heart.) Will he be able to gain the “Blessing of Sea Dragon Douluo?
Challenge me if you so choose, but i will just say as much facts are in this Light Novel as well as my own interpretation of this story.
Because in the previous trial he did not have to kill any killer whales on the king of them, so his “clever” plot did not affect him but his friends which they received less rewards. Also during this trial he did not fight the two duolous that his friends had defeated beforehand he used the seagod’s light power to pass their tests if you read properly so technically its cheating.
He didn’t beat them with the light. It was more they conceded. A big thing though is while Tang San fought after his friends to fight Sea Lance and Sea Ghost. He was technically fighting with them at the time. It was not just their power but also his brains that won. He also won in direct confrontations against Illusion and Star. He is also having a direct confrontation of Strength against Dragon. If that is not enough to balance things I don’t know what is.

Yes, the evolution take place just after the mermaid finished her song. I think about 60th paragraph or so. Go to the middle of the chapter or just ctrl + f and type “blue silver king” and read several paragraphs before it.
And yes, the author did seems often repeat explanations or descriptions just to fill the chapter length. I sometimes find myself skipped them.

I find it quite stupid, for TS and his friends “cheat” the trals, once that they still have time and the rewards to making it thouth the hard way are better, plus they know that they should make the best of it, but now they are doing the opposite.
guess the author just got bored and decided to hurry up.

Yeah, I felt like it was cheating as well, and tans San supposedly “smart” didn’t figure out this was a test to win acknowledgment. Author already insinuated that after he heard shark call him lord, that he had clue of what was going on. But yeah I agree author getting lazy in writing book, quality been dropping for awhile.
