  1. Wait… Is seventh trial is like what I imagined? Is this King Arthur Sword kind of challenge with trident instead of sword?

Did we got another yandere character in Bolton Saixi?! LOL

  2. Since when does Tang San tell bold faced lies to his friends? I realize he is superior to them in every way, but it really bothers me that he doesn’t treat them as equals anymore.

  3. Wait, let me get this straight: she was trying to kill him because she felt her own position on the island being threatened by him? Or is it because right now she has benefits from the seagod that after the completion of the trials will be given to Tang San instead? I’m confused. He called her sellfish, so her reasoning for trying to kill him can’t be something related to the good of the island (you fucking bitch!! I thought you were better than this!!). Can someone please help me to understand?

And as always, thank you Armored Raven

    • Hey, I just had this same confusion.

I think she was jealous because she felt that he wasn’t worthy of the 9-trials; however, her devotion to Seagod really was second-to-none, and she wouldn’t go against the Seagod’s wishes. But that doesn’t mean if she was given the opportunity, she wouldn’t attempt it.

Her emotion is somewhat understandable; she probably devoted her whole life to the Seagod, but was given the 8-trials (that’s my guess), but this outsider whom just arrived was given 9-trials.

Tang-san passing the 9-trials might also mean she will lose her Battle Spirit (Seagod), maybe even her own life.

      • I don’t know. She losing her battle spirit would only make sense if her passing of the trials changed her previous spirit into the current one. It’s an interesting thought

    • No, you guessed right. From my understanding, she was going to kill him to protect her own position and power as a Priestess of seagod island. If Tangsan becomes the new sea god, there wont be a need for Her anymore since, she is just filling in until a sea god appears. Think of her as a substitute teacher lol.

    • it’s just simple human nature…

if you are someone who has all the riches and glory for a long time then some upstart from god who knows where suddenly came to threaten your position then what would do???would you just kindly give it and fall or would you try to resist…it’s as simple as that…

    • I would say that Tnag san implied that it was becaseu they would losse something precious. The most precius thingtothem is not their position but rather theonly being that isabove them The Seagod. If Tang San becasue the new seagon once he completes his trials then the old one will have to go.

    • Well if I remeber right, at some point someone said that Tang San might really be able to save Seagod Island. The only reason Seagod island would need Tang San to save it, was if the protection of the Seagod were to disappear. So my guess at this point is that the Seagod is slowly dying of old age or something, and that’s also the reason he’s looking for a successor. And if Tang San would truly complete the 9 trials and prove worthy, the Seagod would sacrifice all his remaining power to make Tang San even stronger (maybe, if he is a spirit beast, even allow Tang San to absorb his divine spirit ring… if something like this actually exists). And since Bo Saixi loves the Seagod, she won’t want him to die so, even if it would only give the Seagod a couple more years, she would kill Tang San to prolong his life.

      • Well it was mentioned that the grand daughter of the lvl. 99 from spirit hall is taking the 9 angel test or whatever, so that would imply that she will succeed in her test and become a lvl. 100 god because at this point that is the only thing that could pose a threat to sea god island with bo Saxi at her current power level. That would really make Tang sea gods island only hope because it would take a god to fight a god and as of now Tang has the best chances of becoming a god due to his status as the chosen successor of the sea god.

  4. Tell me if I got any of this wrong:

From what I understand, Bo Saixi was jealous of Tang-san getting the 9-trials because she felt he wasn’t worthy of it? To the point that she’d be willing to kill him because of it? And that only her devotion to the Seagod with her kind nature kept her from murdering Tang-san after he completed his sixth trial. Which meant the only justifiable way she could kill Tang-san was in this trial.

    • Not entirely correct as stated by Bo Saixi… as you read the next chapters, you’ll understand why she doesn’t want tang san or anyone to pass the seagod trials… (its something personal)…

      Like

    • Bo Saixi reason for killing Tang San is because he knows a lot of secrets(through the trials) about the Seagod island, maybe some were confused because apparently Bo Saixi’s spirit is (Poseidon)=>Seagod, what is clear is Tang San would NOT usurp her position, Bo Saixi is a servant of the Seagod so its natural if she can defeat the successor(MC) given the restrictions set by the trials then MC has to die, I think its very clear from the start that they have to die if they fail a trial anyway.

    • Not sure. From how the previous chapters ended I thought he had already obtained it by having gone out to the sea, but if you read the last uploaded chapters it says that the only douluo of the group is Tang San. Did we miss something?

      • wasn’t there something like the shark king refusing to let them into the sea near seagod island because that would count as an escape attempt and she’d have to hunt them down?

  5. Sorry, not being disrespect for the translator. Can I ask how many terms are changed by armored raven? It seems I can’t imagining some scene in the story because of this. this is not something major. Just want to know…. Thank you very much for your translation..

    • I talked to people who are working on DD3 translations, and they said that they’re following Bagel’s lead. What I must make clear though, is that they knew Bagel used MTL in the earliest chapters. With the terms ‘stuck’ after more than 200 chapters, me using the more fitting transliterations for the names is going to be confusing.

  6. It really bothers me that the Shrek Seven Devils apart from Tang San are being more and more sidelined:/ I mean, hell, they didn’t even do anything in this trial and in the last one, they relied heavily on Tang San. Aren’t these trials supposed to make them all stronger? But by now it’s mostly Tang San shining and the rest being pulled along by his glory. They are completly dependent on him. I wonder what they are supposed to do if, at one point he can’t help them? Say, because he is locked in battle with a strong opponent. They are probably going to die in such a situation without his oh so boundless wisdom to guide them.

But of course, such a situation is never going to happen, after all it would detract from how wonderful and in invincible he is. Honestly, I don’t understand what they even need the rest of the Shrek Seven for by now. Tang San ist doing everything alone anyway.

      • Yeah, but a leader is also supposed to work with his subordinates and not to pull a one man show every time it might get difficult.
And usually 6 people together are stronger than one person alone. But here it is portraied as if the rest oft the Seven Devils were dragging Tang San down.

        Like

      • Also, ‘the strongest’ and ‘the leader’ are not necessarily one and the same. In fact, quite often it is a bad idea.

        1) Fighting strengh and ability to lead have nothing to do with each other. A good leader needs tactical abilities, enough charisma to get people to follow them and strengh of mind. It doesn’t matter whether they can hold their own in battle, as long as they can get others to follow them and have the knowledge to develop working tactics and implement them. The strongest fighter on the other hand doesn’t need to have tactical knowledge. They need to be a strong fighter and have the ability to follow commands. That’s it.

        2) They have very different jobs. It is actually a bad idea for the leader to fight at the frontlines, because that is not their job. If the leader fights at the frontlines and is killed, than their entire group is in trouble because they have lost their leader, their strategies… they are basically a headless snake. There is a reason why leaders are popular targets. Without the leader, the chances of winning the battle are slim. The strongest fighter on the other hand should fight at the frontlines. That is their job. If they die that sucks, but it just means that an important chess piece was lost. Let’s say, the queen. If the leader dies, you just lost your king. If the leader and the strongest fighter are one and the same person, you just lost both.

    • well tang san is in a different category since he got the seagod trial, rly. and he was from the start given his otherworldly gifts. as for the others being sidelined, in the future, he will have his challenges and opponents and some of those will be above what the others can handle – but, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a fair share of six devils asskicking ahead of us. the others are gonna pull of some pretty badass stuff too😉

that was hinted already btw, he said he is confident that under his guidance those other six now being level 80+ are capable of taking on title doulou powers … not like in the trials with some cheese tactics, but like, for reals …

      • Yes, he is in a different category… but this is getting ridiculous. It isn’t about the Shrek Seven Devils it is about ‘Tang San and Entourage’. It is nice that they are going to do something in the future, because at the moment, they don’t. They didn’t even pass their trials on their own merits.

  7. It’s been brought up already, but nobody answered so… does boss Dai have an eight ring during the trial or does he not? Because he said he was going to get one with the help of Xiao Bai and he even left to do so, but during the battle it is said in different moments that the only duoluo of the group is Tang San. Thoughts?

    Like

    • Wasn’t it mentionned that Xiao Bai refused to let them into the water, because that would count as “escaping seagod island” and then she’d have to kill them

      Like

      • I thought that was true only for those who had completed their trials, like Zouqing, who had wanted to accompany boss Dai but was forced to stay behind

        Like

        • Yes, that’s how I understood it as well. Zhu Zhuqing had to return since she had already passed her trials and only Dai Mubai could leave the island.

  9. Instead of a weapon how about a theory that the seventh trial will be about tangsan training his trident forehead thingy, or something similar, like unlocking his trident tattoo full power.

    Like

    • Possible, I’m pretty sure that his Seagod “affinity” is what determines how much power he can use. He does not really know what he can do with it currently beyond a few things. My guess following your train of thought… A refinement or lesson thereof, we do know that he has the potential to seal the body of his wife with her spirit and soul with the trident on his forehead… Practice..?
Otherwise we may end up seeing another spirit tool fuse with some spirit bones… Who knows? (The translators ^^)
I would suspect that one of the trials includes him reaching rank 90 somehow, I don’t see how he can complete the 9 trials otherwise…
