Maybe someone who is more familiar with how this online translation community works can take this idea further then I can but, How could we get another site to work WITH begalson to provide releases each week? That way the two weren’t completing but working towards common goal, together, even if they developed their specific chapters entirely separately. It would be great if another group worked out something to share the workload and help fill in with additional chapters per week, while letting Begalson continue with his Sunday release. So instead of Begalson doing EVERY chapter, he does every 3 chapters or something like that, while outsourcing the others.
I can’t say I dont understand ‘WHY’ people would prefer some other group take over, but at the same time I certainly don’t like the idea of just pushing Begalson out when he obviously wants to do it (as far as I know). Begalson has been good to all of us and I want to be a loyal consumer, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to try and find a better solution for the releases. We have 75 chapters to go till the end of the book, but current release rates put that at almost 2 years.
Perhaps he’d be willing to join in with wuxiaworld, I’ve read a lot of novels there and I’m sure there’s some tl group that he could come to an arrangement with.

You basically dont think further ahead. The mayority dont bitch abouy bagelson being 1 day late or something. The main problem with douluo dalu is that bagelson doesnt take donations so hes doing it the way he wants and nobody can actually complain about it, but the fact that bagelson is translating this novel makes that any other group with a decent translation speed cant translate it because of codes between translators so in pro of the novel being translated quicker its a lot better for bagelson to drop it and get picked by another group. if he did actually stop translating, someone else would probably pick it up and they would probably translate it faster and more consistently. I think I missed something. I didn’t see anyone ragging on him, but hopefully those were just deleted. As it is, I don’t want him to do it for free. I´ve seen this with “Bringing the farm to another world”, he startet at I think it was 20$, and he couldn´t really complete the amount of Chapters that got sponsored. So a 70$ is probably so they dont get much backlog.

So, he just completed the last of the conditions the Clear Sky School Elders set for him to become the official successor, but I guess it doesn’t matter at this point anyway? I guess you started reading douluo from manga, right? If I’m not mistaken the 2nd condition you said (to become titled douluo) based on manga story. There’re some different plots between the original story came from light novel and manga. I suggest you try to read this story from the 1st chap of this light novel, you’ll find it more interesting..:))

To the noobs who come from the recent boom in light novel popularity:
• Collaboration: A mess in too many ways and would make translations inconsistent. Quality would drop and working in a new team would actually slow down translations at first and its likely all translations would stop.
• Release Rate: Have you seen how long these chapters here are?! You are definitely getting the same amount of reading from this as you do from other places. This author actually splits chapters into 4 parts so Bagelson actually releases 4 a week yo…
• Comparing to Wuxiaworld: This is a fan translation. Even if he DID add donations and ads that candy money wouldn't even be enough to survive on. Wuxia world is a company and make it work with sheer amount of traffic. There is both a variety of works and very short chapters which make ads a viable source of income, on top of paid releases. (Still not enough to live on…)

tdg is pretty good. Itcurrently caught up with the raws, the author updates montly.
I shall seal the heaven is really great. about 1600 chapters, currently translated up to 1200 with two daily releases and from a narrative point of view has really good quality
Half year ago finished Douluo Dalu in machine translated version. As i see that there’re only around 30 new chapters(lol) i’m totally happy that i made the decision. Machine translation is shit, but it’s soooo much better suffering waiting for the new chapter, especially when they come out so irregularly.
So i suggest people to read machine translated version and don’t suffer any more waiting for the chapter. And on the Bagelson’s side it would be merciful decision to leave the translation to wuxiaworld project. They accept donations and would finish remaining chapters in less than half year (if not several months)
1: The machine translation is shit and lacks soul, which is integral to a good reading experience.
2: Bagelson is doing this because he wants to and you telling him to quit is an insult to his hard work.
3: I have no further points but a trifecta feels far more rounded when you’re making a statement.
Let him do what he wants. It’s not like it affects your day.
I wouldn’t mind a machine translated version if you have any links. I like them to ease the itch. But always wait and go to the properly translated versions by guys like Bagleston. I agree having more consistent releases would be ideal. However for those that say to go read the machine translations, you are out of your fucking minds. Sure you get an idea of what is going on, but the substance and feeling are all gone. I appreciate our current translator, and would encourage him to monetize a revenue stream for this project. Sadly those that truly have an issue will just stop reading and visiting the site, those people will rarely even take the time to write a comment. I usually never comment but the commentors have been bothering me more and more so:
Bagelson does not “need” you to visit this site, and you are not offering anything of substantial value for him to” lure” you to his site with drawn out releases. This type of thinking grossly overvalues yourself and what you may or may not have to offer, and I would like to ask you reconsider the relationship going on here.
I don’t know who said it in the comments but, you (we, the readers) are NOT “consumers”. And I’m not sure why some of you have started to think of yourself as such but you are not. The relationship here between Bagelson and us the readers, is HIM DOING US A FAVOR.
This being the case, I’m not sure why some of you feel entitled to demanded faster/scheduled releases from him. Just because other translators have switched to a business model does not mean Bagelson needs to just to satisfy our desires. He did not start this project because he owes us something, and he does not owe us anything because he has started it.
I am starting to see some people demanding he drops this novel so some other translator can finish it faster, or saying that it would have been better if he never started so a faster translator would have picked it up. It is disrespecting and demeaning for you to so callously wish to negate his efforts and work, and again why do you think it’s okay for you to do so? It is also similarly disrespectful to these other translators that you think they are vultures waiting to snap up this project because you demand it be so. They respect his work, which is why they haven’t done so, despite perhaps, some of you requesting they do so. is there a point in saying thank you, if you do not actually feel thankful?
Those arguing for some of us to start showing common human decency and basic respect again are not”kissing up” and the fact that there are retorts saying so shows that you know these entitled comments are “wrong”but that you are purposefully doing so in what seems like an attempt to anger Bagelson enough to drop this project so your desires can be fulfilled.
I also seem to have seen some comments about donation = more/fasterr releases. The recipient of a “donation” does NOT OWE YOU ANYTHING. Hence why it is named a donation, and not a “purchase”. Although it seems many of the major sites has started to switch to this “purchase” system while still calling it a donation, does not mean those who are keeping the actual donation system (which started as a way for us the readers to THANK the translators) owe us chapters. You can say I’m nitpicking at words now, but different words exist for different things/situations/ meanings for a reason.
If you really wish to make a “purchase”, please go beg actual publishers to translate these books and then buy the official book and support the real author.

How are we the readers not ‘consumers’?? What would you call a consumer? I am really interested to understand how we do not qualify as consumers.
We read his releases, which is consuming the content he is providing. Just because there is no traditional business model at work here does not change the meaning of words, in no way does ‘consumer’ have to mean it involves money.
I believe consumer is defined by someone purchasing goods for use, so yes, it does involve a trade of some sort. I don’t believe we’re purchasing anything, hence, we aren’t consumers.

Purchasing good is just how consumer is most used in the media, especially with regards to economics. However there is nothing in the definition that limits it to ‘have’ to involve money, or something like a product bought at walmart. The same way you are currently consuming the oxygen in the air you are breathing, you are consuming the releases/messages and other media that is on this site and the web in general; you are consuming the intellectual property of this website. Same way people consume books or youtube videos.
If you want to get specific the chapters are being traded to the readers by Bagelson for his enjoyment/warm fuzzy feelings/whatever reason that keeps him releasing it, he is taking something away from releasing this each week, whatever that is does not have to involve money.
I agree that we readers are consumers in the general meaning of the word as “one who consumes”. However with that general meaning, I believe there is an unequal and inactive relationship between the consumer and the thing being consumed. With your example, we are consumers of oxygen but do we expect the oxygen to react in any way because we are consumers of it?
Then there is the economic definition of consumer, which does not have to involve money, but must involve trade or an exchange of some sort.
The way I differentiate between the types of consumer is intention. Did the producer release his product with the intention of getting consumers. If yes, then there is now this trade relationship between producer and consumer, that’s what makes me define this as an economic consumer. What type of consumer relationship relationship exists depends on the producer. In a economic consumer relationship, the consumer desires therefore the producer produces. Bagelson’s warm fuzzy feelings or what ever is fueling him to translate this work does not come because of us reading or responding to his work. If bagelson thought of us as his consumers, then he would be reactive to our comments, ideas, etc. However he has shown completely no indication of responding to our increasingly provocative demands therefore i believe he is producing for himself- he is his own economic consumer. We are general consumers, in that we partake of his translations the way we partake of air and neither bagelson or the oxygrn in the air owes us anything, or has formed a relationship with us because we consume it.

This is part of what’s bothering so much about the increasingly aggressive responses from people- that they think they have a right to demand things from bagelson when we are outside observers.
Consider this scenario: you take a walk every day, and pass by a house with a wonderful garden and looking at it was the absolute highlight of your day. then one day you noticed that the garden started not being as well kept or cared for until eventually it became overgrown with weeds. You would not have any right in this scenario to knock or bang and kick at the garden owner’s door and offer to pay to take care of the garden or threaten the owner to resume care of the garden. Just because you derive enjoyment from the garden does not mean the owner create the garden for your enjoyment.
This to me, is what it feels like is happening here in these comments.

i agree both will die, but i dont know about the placement of the rings. i thought one would go to replace Xiao Wu’s ring while the other would be for his 9th ring on the blue silver emperor. it would seem to me that if he puts a 100,000 ring as his first for the clear sky hammer, he would have to keep adding 100,000 rings. i may be wrong though.
Why do people keep insisting one of the rings will be used to replace Xiao wu ring. That means he would have to absorb one of the rings and bone, jump 5 levels to a title douluo, revive Xiao wu, absorb the other ring and replace Xiao wu spirit bone with the other spirit bone all while trying to avoid bibi dongs detection after a fight with her. It makes much more sense to absorb both rings and one bone and become a title douluo, 9 rings on silver grass and 1 on hammer, and wait to revive Xiao wu in a more secure location.

The main problem with douluo dalu is that bagelson doesnt take donations so hes doing it the way he wants and nobody can actually complain about it, but the fact that bagelson is translating this novel makes that any other group with a decent translation speed cant translate it because of codes between translators so in pro of the novel being translated quicker its a lot better for bagelson to drop it and get picked by another group. I think I missed something. I didn’t see anyone ragging on him, but hopefully those were just deleted. As it is, I don’t want him to do it for free. I WANT to pay him. >_< I would much rather throw $50-$100 his way for a bunch of chapters. Not like wuxiworld.com where it is $70 an extra chapter for some, lol, but I'd gladly put money his way just because.
And I'm always glad for what we get, since this is such an amazing series and I hope daily to get chapters (we all have to wake up for something), but I do agree with the sentiment of NOT demanding chapters, and NOT saying anything but thank you and discussing the chapter. Well, I assume the prices for Extra Chapters are so High, because the Translators would burn out.
I´ve seen this with “Bringing the farm to another world”, he startet at I think it was 20$, and he couldn´t really complete the amount of Chapters that got sponsored. So a 70$ is probably so they dont get much backlog.

So, he just completed the last of the conditions the Clear Sky School Elders set for him to become the official successor, but I guess it doesn’t matter at this point anyway? Since he got that hammer from his great grandfather he apparently has the authority to lead the school anyway. I guess that’s just part of Tang San eternally one upping everything.

Technically the first one is redundant since the second covers it, but whatever. I guess you started reading douluo from manga, right? If I’m not mistaken the 2nd condition you said (to become titled douluo) based on manga story. There’re some different plots between the original story came from light novel and manga. I suggest you try to read this story from the 1st chap of this light novel, you’ll find it more interesting..:))

To the noobs who come from the recent boom in light novel popularity:
• Collaboration: A mess in too many ways and would make translations inconsistent. Quality would drop and working in a new team would actually slow down translations at first and its likely all translations would stop.
• Release Rate: Have you seen how long these chapters here are?! You are definitely getting the same amount of reading from this as you do from other places. This author actually splits chapters into 4 parts so Bagelson actually releases 4 a week yo…
• Comparing to Wuxiaworld: This is a fan translation. Even if he DID add donations and ads that candy money wouldn't even be enough to survive on. Wuxia world is a company and make it work with sheer amount of traffic. There is both a variety of works and very short chapters which make ads a viable source of income, on top of paid releases. (Still not enough to live on…)

Half year ago finished Douluo Dalu in machine translated version. As i see that there’re only around 30 new chapters(lol) i’m totally happy that i made the decision. Machine translation is shit, but it’s soooo much better suffering waiting for the new chapter, especially when they come out so irregularly.
So i suggest people to read machine translated version and don’t suffer any more waiting for the chapter. And on the Bagelson’s side it would be merciful decision to leave the translation to wuxiaworld project. They accept donations and would finish remaining chapters in less than half year (if not several months)

I wouldn’t mind a machine translated version if you have any links. I like them to ease the itch. But always wait and go to the properly translated versions by guys like Bagleston. Because it’s like a whole new story all over again. Did that with tales of demons and gods. But even the machine doesn’t compare it helps a bit in between. So feel free to share.

I agree having more consistent releases would be ideal. However for those that say to go read the machine translations, you are out of your fucking minds. Sure you get an idea of what is going on, but the substance and feeling are all gone. I appreciate our current translator, and would encourage him to monetize a revenue stream for this project. Every complaint I see about release times just seems like a potential to make a profit. Sadly those that truly have an issue will just stop reading and visiting the site, those people will rarely even take the time to write a comment. So long as you see complaints it means that people still love it. For everyone else in the chat, can we go back to actually talking about the chapters again? It would be “neat” if we could. I usually never comment but the commentors have been bothering me more and more so:
Bagelson does not “need” you to visit this site, and you are not offering anything of substantial value for him to” lure” you to his site with drawn out releases. This type of thinking grossly overvalues yourself and what you may or may not have to offer, and I would like to ask you reconsider the relationship going on here.
I don’t know who said it in the comments but, you (we, the readers) are NOT “consumers”. And I’m not sure why some of you have started to think of yourself as such but you are not. The relationship here between Bagelson and us the readers, is HIM DOING US A FAVOR.
This being the case, I’m not sure why some of you feel entitled to demanded faster/scheduled releases from him. Just because other translators have switched to a business model does not mean Bagelson needs to just to satisfy our desires. He did not start this project because he owes us something, and he does not owe us anything because he has started it.
I am starting to see some people demanding he drops this novel so some other translator can finish it faster, or saying that it would have been better if he never started so a faster translator would have picked it up. It is disrespecting and demeaning for you to so callously wish to negate his efforts and work, and again why do you think it’s okay for you to do so? It is also similarly disrespectful to these other translators that you think they are vultures waiting to snap up this project because you demand it be so. They respect his work, which is why they haven’t done so, despite perhaps, some of you requesting they do so. is there a point in saying thank you, if you do not actually feel thankful?
Those arguing for some of us to start showing common human decency and basic respect again are not”kissing up” and the fact that there are retorts saying so shows that you know these entitled comments are “wrong”but that you are purposefully doing so in what seems like an attempt to anger Bagelson enough to drop this project so your desires can be fulfilled.
I also seem to have seen some comments about donation = more/fasterr releases. The recipient of a “donation” does NOT OWE YOU ANYTHING. Hence why it is named a donation, and not a “purchase”. Although it seems many of the major sites has started to switch to this “purchase” system while still calling it a donation, does not mean those who are keeping the actual donation system (which started as a way for us the readers to THANK the translators) owe us chapters. You can say I’m nitpicking at words now, but different words exist for different things/situations/ meanings for a reason.
If you really wish to make a “purchase”, please go beg actual publishers to translate these books and then buy the official book and support the real author.

We read his releases, which is consuming the content he is providing. Just because there is no traditional business model at work here does not change the meaning of words, in no way does ‘consumer’ have to mean it involves money.

The same way you are currently consuming the oxygen in the air you are breathing, you are consuming the releases/messages and other media that is on this site and the web in general; you are consuming the intellectual property of this website. Same way people consume books or youtube videos.
If you want to get specific the chapters are being traded to the readers by Bagelson for his enjoyment/warm fuzzy feelings/whatever reason that keeps him releasing it, he is taking something away from releasing this each week, whatever that is does not have to involve money.

I agree that we readers are consumers in the general meaning of the word as “one who consumes”. However with that general meaning, I believe there is an unequal and inactive relationship between the consumer and the thing being consumed. With your example, we are consumers of oxygen but do we expect the oxygen to react in any way because we are consumers of it?
Then there is the economic definition of consumer, which does not have to involve money, but must involve trade or an exchange of some sort.
The way I differentiate between the types of consumer is intention. Did the producer release his product with the intention of getting consumers. If yes, then there is now this trade relationship between producer and consumer, that’s what makes me define this as an economic consumer. What type of consumer relationship relationship exists depends on the producer. In a economic consumer relationship, the consumer desires therefore the producer produces. Bagelson’s warm fuzzy feelings or what ever is fueling him to translate this work does not come because of us reading or responding to his work. If bagelson thought of us as his consumers, then he would be reactive to our comments, ideas, etc. However he has shown completely no indication of responding to our increasingly provocative demands therefore i believe he is producing for himself- he is his own economic consumer. We are general consumers, in that we partake of his translations the way we partake of air and neither bagelson or the oxygrn in the air owes us anything, or has formed a relationship with us because we consume it.

This is part of what’s bothering so much about the increasingly aggressive responses from people- that they think they have a right to demand things from bagelson when we are outside observers.
Consider this scenario: you take a walk every day, and pass by a house with a wonderful garden and looking at it was the absolute highlight of your day. then one day you noticed that the garden started not being as well kept or cared for until eventually it became overgrown with weeds. You would not have any right in this scenario to knock or bang and kick at the garden owner’s door and offer to pay to take care of the garden or threaten the owner to resume care of the garden. Just because you derive enjoyment from the garden does not mean the owner create the garden for your enjoyment.

i agree both will die, but i dont know about the placement of the rings. i thought one would go to replace Xiao Wu’s ring while the other would be for his 9th ring on the blue silver emperor. it would seem to me that if he puts a 100,000 ring as his first for the clear sky hammer, he would have to keep adding 100,000 rings. i may be wrong though.

Why do people keep insisting one of the rings will be used to replace Xiao wu ring. That means he would have to absorb one of the rings and bone, jump 5 levels to a title douluo, revive Xiao wu, absorb the other ring and replace Xiao wu spirit bone with the other spirit bone all while trying to avoid bibi dongs detection after a fight with her. It makes much more sense to absorb both rings and one bone and become a title douluo, 9 rings on silver grass and 1 on hammer, and wait to revive Xiao wu in a more secure location.
