  1. Why the hell hasn’t he just pulled out the token his grandfather gave him and said look im the leader of the clan follow my word or be punished for disobediance

    • It’s mentioned in the chapter. They wouldn’t seriously listen to him even if he took it out. They are that arrogant that they will just believe it’s a fake token. He needs to beat them down first.

      • or even if they considered it the real one, they still wouldn’t accede to the demands of someone they perceived as weaker than them. He may be given a right to speak but that doesn’t mean that they’ll accept what he wants. They might allow Tang Hao back in but the spirit bones might not be given. Still, I wonder if the results would be the same if he showed the hammer when the second elder said that he had the right to address the clan when they saw his power though they still said they had to punish him.

ah well, the silence after he released his rings though. haha.

        • Still… didn’t he want to try diplomacy? Maybe, just maybe he would have accomplished more if he had started out in a respectful manner? Like, proving that he accomplished their demands and then stating his demands? Just to give them some face?

          • The clan threw his dad under the bus for convenience’s sake, and there might have been self-serving politics in play at the time. He’s deliberately not giving them face.
            .
His approach is basically “You are wrong. I am not giving you any leeway on this. Also, my fist is bigger than yours so what I say, goes.”

            Like

          • To be honest, while I think Tang San has a plan with all of this, I think he’s also venting his frustrations. I mean, he’s A) frustrated with how they treated his dad, pinning the blame on him for what happened to their clan; B) is frustrated with how the Clear Sky School did not protect the other four clans who supported them; C) has felt increased vindication since even his grandfather agreed that his father did nothing wrong; D) The Clear Sky School hid, and while you can understand where Clear Sky is coming from, the end result is Spirit Empire forming and the top 3 schools either in hiding, completely destroyed or debilitated. So while Tang San might possibly still respect their position as Elders, he’s wants them to fully realize how wrong they’ve been these 25 years. So he might not be thinking of giving them face with regards to the Spirit Hall-Tang Hao incident.

I don’t know what you mean by “accomplishing more” though? I don’t think he’s going to lose anything by fighting it out with the elders? I mean, the worst I can think of is resentment? But I think they’d be more on trying to get him to stay with them because of how strong he is. By seeing his strength with their own eyes / feel it with their own bodies, I think that allows Tang San more room to move and for them to really listen to what he says.

I do think diplomacy is usually a better way to move through things but I don’t really blame him for indulging in his emotions a bit. Even Tang Hao acknowledged that, and he’s more attached and loyal to his clan, just making sure Tang San didn’t kill anybody.

          • Actually, strenght is the only universal language in that universe and it’s even more true with the Clear Sky Clan. That’s what we learned the 1st time he went there. Therefore I think it’s the only good way of doing things: showing them who’s the strongest. After all, didn’t Tang Hao and Tang Xiao act somewhat the same when they were younger, earning their position throught fighting? That’s the way they do things and Tang San understood it quite well. If not for this show of strenght, he’d never be able to retrieve the spirit bones for his father and he’d never appear legitimate in the elder’s eyes.

      • Actually, there are several deaths already. Just before, tang san massacre a group of spirit Hall. Before that, he killed Ghost Douluo and several others. Oh, don’t forget when he touring the continent, wiping every branch of spirit Hall in the town he visited. Then there is several thousand degenerated massacred when he asked the gate of asura trials opened. Then when he massacre spirit Hall people who hunting Xiao Wu. Did I forgot anyone? On yeah, that illusion user who tried to kill him in spirit competition, tang san kill him flatter than dead, since he turned into puddle of sludge. Hmm… I almost forgot, the spirit Hall branch in that metal / black smith city, I forgot the name, got wiped clean by tang san before burned to ground by the Phoenix fatty.

Sure, if you want slasher kind of massacre, this is not the novel you want. But from death toll itself, tang san raked quite the number. All done by his hand.

    • its not like he needs her teleportation or invincible golden body after he got that gravity spirit bone from Er Ming that has Er Ming’s full strength punch and his aoe gravity field with just the flick of a wrist, not to mention Da Ming’s cc ability and his ridiculous ability to hide BOTH in his spirit avatar and vast sea skull bone. Broken is just broken, never seen a more broken MC and i fucking love it!

      Like

    • it seems you dont really unerstand just how ridiculously broken Tang San is right now. put it this way, a level 92 should not be able to beat a lvl 94 in a full confrontation (the most he should be able to do is contend with a lvl 94 and possibly beat a lvl 93). Yet the current lvl 92 Tang San clearly says that he believes he can beat Sword Douluo and his now lvl 97 uncle Tang Xiao. Now look at the qualitative power leap. a lvl 95 is said to be able to beat/hold down 2 lvl <=94 single-handed; whilst a lvl 96 can defeat 3x <=94 easily and a lvl 97 can hold down 4-5x <= lvl 94.

Level 95 is where your strength gets a qualitative power boost and you get a 20% boost in almost all attributes and spirit power. If i myself was to look at it, i would say that starting at lvl 90 each level adds about 2% boost to lvl 94 then suddenly jump to 20% starting from lvl 94-95 onwards.

My point is this, the current Tang San is lvl 92 and he has the strength to "possibly" equally fight a lvl 97 (and we all know that Tang San is a genius among genius and would never exaggerate his own power) in theory/ on paper and in my own view i he is a mere 4%-8% stronger than a common lvl 90 Title Douluo and he can already achieve this. imagine a Tang San at lvl 95 who will have a: 8%-16%(90-94) + 20%(94-95) more spirit power and attributes than a lvl 90… thats a whole 28%-36% overall stronger once again depend on how you look at the power gap per lvl from lvl 90-94. I believe at lvl 95 Tang San will be able to beat 2x lvl 97 Title Douluo together and even be able to 1v1 any lvl 99 Peak Douluo.

How I see it Tang San's lvl 100 God Ascension basically begin at lvl 98 or as early as lvl 97 because i doubt anyone will be able to handle him.

      Like

      • Basically, his pretty collection of spirit bones, his domains, his mysterious heaven skills and his Sea God Scepter help him by turning him far more powerful than others from his level… With Ghost Douluo’s death, we’ve seen that common title douluos might have one or two spirit bones but how many people have 6 like Tang San? And moreover, 4 100k years spirit bones, an external spirit bone that’s quite the equivalent to a 100k years spirit bone and skull spirit bone that is so overpowered that he considers it even more powerful than the others…

Now let’s see how strong he’ll get :p.

        Like

        • technically he doesnt need to get stronger than lvl 96 tbh, since he will be able to dispose of all if any singular opposition. But i guess if he wants to singlehandedly fight a group then lvl 97-98 would be preferable.

So he can heal the plants and restore his mother to 100 thousand years cultivation in 3 days ??? His mother can drop a seed and sacrifice spirit ring and bone for the blue silver grass… so in 1 month it would have been quite possible to have all red spirit rings and a full set of emperor blue silver grass spirit bones by farming epic boss ie his mum and then still recover her true form. Sureley for ultimate power she would have been glad to.

Take your self-entitled arrogant self away from this site and don’t come back. You’ve been spoiled by people who do this as a full time job and expect everyone to meet those standards when they only do it in their sparse free time.

Alot of people read this, your obvious lies and bias are incredibly easy to see through. You say the other translation only has minor errors… ya right, in the most recent chapter I saw you write a page long comment on all of the errors that were in his translations… I also expect that you missed alot since you write someone as some1.
If you want to read on the other site go and read there, spend all your free time learning better English then you can be his editor because oh my god does he need one. Once you finish middle school maybe you’ll be mature enough and have a good enough grasp of the English language to help your poacher.

Poaching is disgusting but you are worse for coming here and deliberately trying to spread enough hate to get Bagelsons to quit translating. We’ve seen people like you in the community before and frankly you are not welcome. Stick to the sites that poach and Lnmtl, because nobody wants you here spreading hate and lies to further your fucked up aims.

        • I know a few things that are lacking here: Integrity, class, and translation quality.
Bagelson’s translations are not perfect. At the very least they can use additional editing, but your site’s DD translations are a clear step or two below his as far as readability and therefore my enjoyment. The translation poaching, and on top of that coming onto Bagelson’s site to advertise your’s is quite a trashy move. The blatant lies about the superiority of wuxiadream’s translations are laughable. Just so no one needs to post a stupid reply suggesting that I haven’t read your translations; I have. Anyone with a good grasp of the English language who actually cares would clearly see the difference in quality.

Having more translation teams is great in that more stories can be translated. As far as quality goes, everyone needs to start somewhere and improve from there. For example, Bagelson started with DD, and he has definitely improved along the way (his early chapters were quite rough). His efforts have helped this story to be brought to the attention of many English speaking people and become as popular as it is to that audience. Bagelson is also willing to collaborate with other translators if people want to help speed up releases. However, by your actions it seems you just want to steal an established project that is still in progress to appeal to entitled leechers who are only interested in instant gratification with higher speed, lower quality work to quickly grab page views and popularity. My greatest fear is that your thoughtless and selfish actions will lead to Bagelson stopping his work, forcing me to read your lesser version, and then having your group dissolve before the story is fully translated.

“since bagelson not EVER posted a comment here…”
He hasn’t posted in a long while but to say “not EVER” is simply untrue.

“…or gave anny face to his fans and made it very explicit that he doesn’t care at all if we read this or not and what we think?”
Do you have a link to such statements from him? I don’t recall seeing that. If you are basing this just on his lack of communication it may just all be in your head.

              “Let them do theyr thing…”
As if you or I have any say or control whatsoever in this. Besides, Zilvane requested feedback. I provided some feedback.

“…and bagelson does his, he will keep doing what he does and never notice we are gone”
If you wish to “leave” then go ahead and leave. Why do you even care about what’s being posted here since you’ve made it very explicit that you don’t care if you read his translations and what he thinks? Let us do our thing on Bagelson’s site and you and Zilvane do yours on THEIR site.

When is this “we” going to be gone anyway? It looks like the “we” is still around advertising and posting links to Zilvane’s site and complaining about Bagelson not releasing fast enough and not placating his more sensitive readers.

And as the anonymous commenter said before, they seem to clearly lack integrity as they come here to try and steal Bagelson’s readers by spreading lies about their (Iack of) quality. What I can even less accept is the one who claims they actually do a better job translating the story… Sorry but when I see confusions about spirit rings and spirit bones, and that they the names, the spirit master’s ranks, etc… Frankly speaking, I’ve read the chapters till ch.275 but I kind of regret it… It was badly translated and seeing how they behave here, I think they really don’t deserve any respect from us.

We are doing this because of our love for Chinese Novel & Chinese culture and my apology for our selfish actions.
Our quality at this moment is not as good at Bagelson but we will improve in the future.

Would you mess the character’s names? Even calling the Shrek Seven Devils “freaks” instead of the standard translation used by all translators for DD2 and DD3 too (I’ve read Cookiepasta’s translation of DD2 and Wuxiaworld’s translation of DD3 and they both talk about the Shrek Seven Devils if I’m not mistaken.

These are just a few examples but there are others, like the emperor’s name, the medicine hall’ elder’s name, the spirit master’s ranks, etc… You really don’t give a damn about what has already been made and what’s considered standards for those who read that novel till now.

And braging here about your so called superiority is an insult to everything Bagelson’s done till now! It shows a tremendous lack of integrity! Hopefully, Wuxiaworld will translate DD2 and I won’t have to read it on your website… and I think I’ll stick with Bagelson for the quality of his translations!

I’m the manager of the Invincible ladies – the lady group who is translating books on wuxiadream.
We will start updating dd2 and dd3 on March 15.
We will update 2 chapters per day each books.
We’ll take a day off every week so we will update around 12 chapters per week each book.
Our ladies work full time so we will really appreciate if you guys can support our website

    • Sorry but there have been too many insulting comments coming from people directly related to your site, to even consider supporting it… I don’t know about you, as your post doesn’t directly insult Bagelson’s work (still, I think it’s quite bad to come and make your publicity here yourselves but well…) but others haven’t been as decent, including people who seem to be directly related to the site.

I hope that any true fan won’t be forgetting Bagelson’s years of selfless dedication. If at least, these WD’s translations were well done…

      • I’m glad they have been posting in these comment sections. I wouldn’t have know about their website if they hadn’t. If you want to read the better translated version from Bagelson then do that. If you want to finish the story in a reasonable amount of time, then go to the other site. Bagelson has repeatedly stated that he doesn’t accept donations, so people switching sites doesn’t really matter.

Btw, i really like tangsan this two chaptes now. I used to be annoyed by how perfect man he’s with his super-righteouss. Now he playing snot-nosed brat like devil may cry charade (Nero more-suited). Now, that’s something! lol!

    • I still hate the fact that this story is too soft and too teary-eyed.

For any man like Tang San who always gets teary eyed like girl is just disgusting. It’s one thing for real men to cry once everytime they are really hurt but for an MC like him, to always have tears whenever something softy happens is just disgusting for an MC with super cheat-code strength like Tang San.

I read the manhua first before reading 220 here so it took me time to adjust to the diffrences but from the Manhua to this novel, I came to hate this author’s style.

From the DD1 to DD2 and then The Legend of the Dragon King…

Chapter 1 shows the Plot Settings and the drama of the MC
Chapter 2 shows the power and the side characters
Chapter 3 develops into a really SUDDEN INCREASE in power
Chapter 4 meets side characters again
Chapter 5 slows down the pace, MC miraculously survives something life-threatening ordeal
Chapter 6 slows down the pace again and meets the crew
Chapter 7 and so and so forth, the same boring rise to SUPER POWER Main Character with tear-inducing moments of Too Soft for an MC to handle and the MC always gets tearyy-eyed for just one of his companions being hurt by a single ant bite. F*CK THAT!!!

The heck with that kind of settings?! I actually wonder how and why this series and this kind of boring predictable set up was famous to everybody…

      • Me too, the reason I was dragged here ^_^ was because of manhua, so I realize something. Manhua crated for kids so it`s made more simple, friendly, and more comedy. But LN was purposed for teen to adult genre so, exaggerating, heavy words, and predictable plots are their main component. For people who used to read comic (manhua, manga, etc) they might not used to this kind of storyline cause chinese`s story (LN novels) mostly about journey, hardship, and love while manga-base are mostly about friendship, burning spirit, straightforward, and fan-service ^_^i

        • boo frickin hoo. ill take slightly worse quality over slow updates fyi. if you lack reading comprehension thats your problem, or the problem of your parents or teachers. you can stay here and wait for a chapter every sunday for all i care. and maybe if you wait long enough, and the hell freezes over, the translator will even drop a comment.

          Like

          • You lack the understanding that “reading comprehension” isn’t the same skill as “being able to interpret badly written English.” It’s probably just your problem. You’re right, we can stay here and wait. Why would you care, unless you are some translation stealing shill. Please GTFO.

            Like

          • You want to talk about reading comprehension? I’m not a native english speaker but I don’t think I’m too lacking in that language, particulary when it comes to reading. I’ve already read a few books in english and not only web novels and what I learned, through these experiences, is that once you reach a certain level of proficiency in a language, you begin to dicern slight differences between the styles, like the fact you can say the same thing in a few different ways and some of these sound far better. That’s the difference between Bagelson’s work and wuxiadream’s work. When reading their chapters, I hadn’t read these hateful comments here and I think I was quite objective with my first impression of their translation: there’s a huge lot of room for improvement! They don’t even need a professionnal editor… they just need someone who actually read the whole thing to read their chapters before they post them, to have something far better than what they’re doing.

With their chapters, we might have the pleasure to know what happens faster… but I don’t want to sacrifice the pleasure of reading to have that.

Market it where ever you want but give us the ones who stuck with bagelson for 2 years some face and leave us HERE alone, so we can enjoy the great work a man did all this time for free.

What you did here is unacceptable in my eyes and I will stop reading at wuxia dream because of it, doesn’t matter how fast or good you can translate, because if you start your site like this you just showed us all, what kind of people you are, and I don’t want to be a part of a reading community lead by this kind of people.

      • It’s simply a matter of respect and integrity. They made their advertisement so they should now stop and focus their efforts on quality instead of outside communication.

        Like

        • Respect? It takes barely any time to make a post or comment, but Bagel won’t take the time to let us know that he isn’t going to post a chapter for the week. Piggybottle and armored raven both said that he didn’t really communicate with them. There have been times where they finished a chapter, but Bagel didn’t post it even though he had posted lengthy comments on reddit about other topics that same week. If he has time to post on other sites, then he has time to make a post saying “no chapter this week.” or at least communicate with his other translaters that are helping him for free. Advertising isn’t the problem, the negative comments are. Simply posting a link to let these readers know their is an alternative is a good thing. This has turned into a shit show because people seem to be taking it personally on both sides. Another commenter mentioned that some of the negative comments are probably from people who have been getting tired of the slower release dates and lack of communication from Bagel. And that they’re venting their frustion now that they have an alternative source to read this. I think the other commenter is right about that. There have been a lot more negative comments these past few months than there were at the beginning of the translation and it probably has a lot to do with the slower pacing and barely a word from Bagelson.

I’ll stick with Bagelson’s translation, personnally. For me, quality is far better than quantity: I’m willing to wait if it means to have something better. I’m even wondering about Printing all of Bagelson’s translations, once, and books made out of it to keep in my bookshelf. That’s how high I value his work!

I just meant that his translations aren’t without errors so it would be extremely difficult for me to justify the printing costs and space of it as opposed to reading it digitally. I would love it if Bagelson went back and edited the chapters. I’d gladly pay him directly for that since these chapters have been a great addition to my Sundays.

They changed Zhu Zhu Quing’s name too, etc… They changed the names of their spirits, seem to not understand the difference between spirit rings and spirit bones, sometimes talk about 10’000 thousand years spirit rings and some others about 10 myriads spirit rings, talk about a three pronged spear instead of the trident, etc… It’s quite hard to enjoy reading their chapters when you have to do all these conversions all the time…

You go to their website, and the donation spams in the middle of the screen. Worse than that, they come to THIS SITE, the place they took the project from, and promote themselves. That is just cheap. And even worse, THEY ASK FOR MONEY HERE.
And even worse, they have people insulting the ones that tell the truth about their translation in a cordial manner. They asked for feedback, someone tells them what is wrong, and then they insult. I just see a crapy translation group that jumps into a famous series, does not even care of doing it properly, promotes themselves in the other group. I just hope the ones doing this are 16 year old because if not, the ones at wuxiadream are plain douchebags.

BST has done a great job, but i wish to finish reading it while I still have hair on my head… I might had more respect for the guy, but the silence and lack of communication doesnt make me appreciate his work at all. WD didnt break any rule imho, they picked it up for the fans who wish for a faster releases and have the option to donate and show support. This guy does this as part of his hobby, and there is no way to support him, since he doesnt care about the fans of DD. Rarely we get 2 chapters here, like this time around, though more often you wait a week with a cliffhanger or even 2 weeks without any notification from the translator himself. So what rule are they breaking? We live in an age with rivalry among business companies are a part of everyday life. You dont see one brand of shirts and pants, or food and hygiene products. So I suppose the quality makes up for the lack of speed. People are human after all, u can’t expect them to just let go of their own lives for the sake of pleasing others. Truth be told, I would much rather prefer if this translator himself would translate the sequels of Douluo Dalu.

However, Wuxiaworld picked the project and they’re not bad at all, in my opinion. I’m waiting to see what they’re going to do with DD2 but I quite liked their work on DD3.

And by the way, if you still haven’t read it, don’t worry… you might learn a few things about the future of the 7 devils but well… nothing you woudln’t imagine and morover, there have already been some spoils about that in Douluo Dalu :P.

          • Well, so far I’ve read the manhua version of a Douluo Dalu 2, because the manga and the novel often have a lot of differences, but u can at least use the manhua for reference as to what the characters look like. But I did quite like the manhua version as well, so I’m really wondering if there’s a difference in the manhua and the novel. And reading the manhua of the second book isn’t much of a spoiler because you can already guess what can happen in the first book since it’s already at the end. The only problem would be that the novel of Douluo Dalu 2 hasn’t been updated for a while. But either way, I really did like what I’ve read so far in the manhua version and I’m really wondering whether I should start reading the second book or wait until it’s got a few more chapters.😅

            Like

            • For the second book, it’s too bad Cookiepasta droped the translation but well… we can’t blame them for having personal issues and just hope they’re doing well. However, I’ve seen wuxiaworld took over the translations and decided to begin from scratch instead of using what was already available and with a promise of 7-8 chapters a week. After having read the prologue and the 1st chapter, I’m relieved cause the guys have done a good job. There are some little differences: for example, they didn’t translate the countries names and use the term “soul” instead of “spirit”. They already did it with DD3 and I was wondering if there was a difference between soul and spirit in the context but it seems it was simply a choice in the translation. out of that, it seems very well done, so I’ll be following DD2 and DD3 there :P.

Oh! And there are a few very general spoilers about DD1 in the novel (as much as in the manha, I guess) but don’t read the prologue: it’s the biggest spoiler you can have (and the guys warn you in wuxiaworld).

              Happy reading then!

              • Hahaha, I just saw it too. They actually updated this very day. And right after I commented on it. Talk about luck. And, seriously? 7-8 chapters? Sweet! I can’t wait! I’m really looking forward to reading it cuz I find it reeeeeaaally nerve wrecking when the translation of a story I’m really looking forward to, just stagnates. But, if it’s Wuxiaworld, I’m sure they’ll not only give translations with good quality, they’ll even release chapters more frequently. I suppose that because they have multiple translators, right? • He doesn’t have to care about us, that’s the beauty of it. This is HIS blog. He can do with it whatever the hell he wants, and he has no obligation to keep anyone informed. People have been clamoring for him to start accepting donations, but that’s just out of a sense of personal entitlement. It’s easy to justify going ‘hey, where’s my chapter’ once you’ve donated a dollar, which is why he won’t let you do that. All good. In fact, it’s smart of him not to let you do it.

The fact that Wuxiadream overtook him and is several chapters ahead also shouldn’t necessarily affect Bagelson, as he can keep doing what he wants to do. This has nothing to do with business rivalry when only one of the two can be classified as a business (the one over yonder that’s begging for moolah, obviously).

The problem for I presume many people is the fact that for a while, Wuxiadream had published Bagelson’s work on their donation driven site. It is good that they removed those chapters since then, but that doesn’t take away the fact that this blog is being carpetbombed by posted ads for Wuxiadream. The public incitement and criticism towards Bagelson’s release schedule by the people of Wuxiaworld bleeding over into BST is simply not welcome, no matter how you might feel about Bagelson personally. And personally, I do think it’s rude of a translation group to barge in after 269 chapters and simply take over shop. Wuxiadream builds on the firm foundations laid by other, more dedicated translators, and all the impatient folks are glad to help them with names and wording and the like. Add the insistent begging for donations on top of that and it actually becomes kind of disgusting. But since they’re getting money for it, everyone is free to bitch at them if their pace drops. In retrospect it is only natural that those that feel entitled to new content flock to Wuxiaworld and talk bad about BST.

Taking away all of the arguments though, isn’t it good this way? You have one translation group providing fast chapters of low but slowly improving quality, while Bagelson continues at his pace to deliver high quality translations.

Otherwise, your analysis is quite good. Finally, we might be free of all those annoying guys who kept complaining that Bagelson wasn’t fast enough for them and about his lack of communication… It’s like how shit attracts all the flies…

  28. I posted here once about wuxia because there are other readers who binge all the chapters at once and wanted more. It’s just to inform new readers that there is another alternative to reading DD1 albeit you sacrfice quality and consistency/continuity from Bagelson’s work. Nothing wrong with helping other readers know there is an alternative. BTW to Marco Alves you’re making this far too personal. Other people who have read through wuxia are not advertising to help wuxia but rather to help other readers know there is an alternative. Bagelson has given us quality translations for the quite a long time now and for the longest time (half a year to almost a year ago) Bagelson’s translations have slowed down since he does it out of personal interest. The readers and commenters have frequently complained about the pacing of how the chapters roll out ever since then and now someone actually decided to pick it up and also credited bluesilver (bagelson, armoured raven and I forgot the last guy) for their past work. If you don’t like the fact that someone else picked it up that’s on you but to offend other readers and stop them from having an alternative source of DD1 is your own personal vendetta. You might not like wuxia but alot of us do.

if you have any other mean things to say come at me man.

    • Actually, I never commented the fact that they chose to translate DD. I think that’s a bit disrespectful but well… We can’t force everyone to abide by the tacite rules of the wuxia translators so it’s fine…

And sorry… making a few posts to let people know there’s an alternative isn’t the same as insulting Bagelson’s work like they did… Someone of their crew even had the nerve to pretend their translation is better than Bagelson’s work: well, having read their translations, I simply said it objectively isnt’ the case. Eventhough I can find some pleasure by discovering the story by reading their version, my pleasure can’t be whole as the act of reading in itself doesn’t bring me any pleasure with such low level work… It’s just like when you watch a japanese anime and you have to choose between fastsub and good quality fansub: there are too many tiny things that ruin your fun with fastsub and that’s the same with wuxiadream’s translations in my opinion! And stop pretending! These guys have been advertising for a few days now and don’t seem to be willing to stop!

If you’ve read through my comments, there are not a few where I asked them politely to just leave us in peace and to their work on their side without comming advertising here but what was their answer? Spoils… So sorry if it seems to you I’ve taken this personnaly but there’s one thing I can’t stand and that’s disrespect! Maybe I’ve done nothing to earn these guy’s respect as they’ve done nothing worth of mine but everyone here should at least respect Bagelson’s huge work and that’s what these guys lack!

And you want to pretend it isn’t guys from the site? Doesn’t matter! Just like football teams have to assume acts coming from their fans during games, these guys have to assume what their fans do and their own lack of respect for other translators as it seems they’re aggregating the work of others to have a basis instead of picking new novels.

      Like

      • What are you talking about? A football team’s fans are just random people who bought a ticket or decided to watch the game. They aren’t the responsibility of the team they are cheering for. If people from this site decided to talk trash on the other site, would it be Bagelson’s responsibility? No. That’s ridiculous. The negative comments are shitty and need to stop, but I don’t see a problem with them posting here that there is another site to read this story. If Bagelson accepted donations, then I would be completely against it, but it’s just a hobby for him. No harm no foul.

        • It’s a matter of respect. Something too many people seem to neglect. I wouldn’t mind too if it was just a few posts to tell people there was an alternative. The proble is when these same administrators use different accounts to bash Bagelson’s work, insult him, post spoilers here, etc… So sorry but no! If they had a bit of integrity, they wouldn’t be doing what they did!

Ah… and they stole Bagelson’s work too and posted it on their site as their own translation until they were forced to remove it… How can anyone support that type of behaviour?

          Like

        • By the way, yes: when football fans act violently or destroy material, it happens that the team is held responsible for the behavious of their supporters (I’m talking about real football, not the american version).

          • I’m not sure that they have been using multpile accounts, so until I see proof of that I won’t comment on it. I’m not trying to dismiss that point, I just don’t want to comment on something I haven’t seen proof of. From the comments I’ve seen, an administrator said that they did credit the translation team and that they’re going to delete their work from their site once they get some things sorted out. They posted that they won’t release a chapter today since they want to get the quality of their content under control so people aren’t confused. So football isn’t comparable to soccer, but online novels are comparable to soccer? No single person represents a group, nor does a fraction of the population represent a group. If a bunch of people want to get wasted kill each other or riot because they have no self control, then that’s up to the police and security to handle. Not the teams who are trying to give a show of sportsmanship. Think of it this way. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

            Like

            • It is a fact that they used multiple accounts to post here and it was even said by one of their administrators on their website, on the chatbox (yesterday, a comment from 14h13. The former pseudo was some phone number and now it’s just “unknown name”).

And about the thefts, why do you think they had to remove the DD chapters but those from God of Slaughter too! And if I’m not mistaken, they had some DD3 chapters too they had to remove (but I’m not 100% sure of the last one). About DD2, they usted Cookipasta’s translation but “forgot” to credit them for the last 3 chapters… A way to steal part of their work too.

In this situation, think about the situation: would the situation be like this if these guys hadn’t come here to advertise, using multiple accounts to insult people, inslusively Bagelson? The answer is clearly no! Even if some of the comments aren’t from them (and I really doubt that) they bear the responsability of what they’ve triggered.

  29. Some interesting trends in the posts promoting WD. So, bibidongdongdong and zilvane are definitely the same person (there is some website link and icon confusion in at least two of zilvane’s posts above). It also looks like jinwoo and brian xiong are probably the same person too. Then there is soiler hater who may actually be a real individual person. Besides those aliases almost every single other comment either promoting WD or flaming other people for being critical of WD or posting spoilers have random aliases with a website address of “deleted”. Somehow I do not think this is a coincidence.

So apparently WD has a marketing team of 1-3 people who think the readership of this website is really stupid and like to talk to themselves in the comments section. BTW please donate because they definitely have a team of young beautiful girl translators working hard translating full time on their stolen projects.

  30. I can’t wait for this novel to be translated so that I can finally start the sequel. It’s been what, 2 years of painful 1 episode at a time reading. I think there’s 66 ep left which is a bit over year at this rate. Let’s hope the sequel gets more attention from the translator.

    • Frankly speaking, I’ve begun to read the sequel and I don’t even feel spoiled… OK, you know more or less the situation at the end of DD but a lot of questions aren’t answered so… And basically, they don’t state the facts that led to that situation so I personnaly don’t consider it as spoil as I’m more interested to know how things happen rather than how it ends but I might be particular XD.

      Like

    • I forgot to say something: if you ever consider reading DD2 before ending DD1, definitly don’t read the prologue because it’s the major spoiler you’ll get. Basically, knowing the end doesn’t bother me as I give more weight to how things happen in a story and will ever be interested to know how things will evolve to reach that point. But at least, you’ve been warned^^

      • Thanks for the heads up. I think I’m gonna wait though. Btw, even though the quality on the other website is not remotely close to this one, it takes little to nothing from the story. I mean, who needs 100% perfect grammar and adequate adjectives when you can use your imagination. Once you’ve read 1 or 2 xianxias you can kinda figure out what they mean based on the context. E.g ‘pithy’ Opressive, overbearing, forceful, domineering, etc. take your pick.

  32. Thanks for the double release Bagelson! I went over to the other site out of curiosity to read their translations and instantly regretted it – the quality is absolutely inferior and I did not enjoy the read at all. Their ethics regarding this whole situation is non-existent and if I were Bagelson I would disable the comments section to prevent this shitstorm from getting worse. I, and many others, have read your work since the beginning, appreciate it and your time, and would hate it if the project was dropped due this situation. There is no point in arguing against people like that, don’t waste your time.

      • That link makes a lot of sense. However, there are nuances. I’m not berating bagelson or even complaining or demanding more from him. He goes at his own pace: his life, his call. Now, can you blame readers for wanting somebody else to start translating at a faster pace? while trying to make a buck or two off the novel. Btw a novel that’s puplic. Regarding the risks about quality, terminology, and the honeymoon period: that’s our risk to take as readers.

        • There’s a difference here… These guys have only picked novels that were already translated by other teams and stole their work, publishing it under their own name: they thought it would be easier and faster to steal someone else’s work in order to grab these novel’s fans…

And well… if the guys need to come insult us and publish spoilers and other things like that, it just proves that their quality isn’t enough to make them successful… See Bagelson: he never posts, never advertises and we’re still all here waiting for his work every sunday: quality is the better advertisement! These guys have nothing to offer… they’re just beggars!

          Like

          • I don’t think it’s ethical for them to continue advertising their website here or telling spoilers. Or even picking up novels that move at a reasonable pace and the translator/s is/are invested in it. I don’t think that’s the case here though. All that being said, if a group of translators decides to begin translating a 1000 ep novel that’s been going at 3 ep a week for 2 years and they start pumping 6-7 episodes a week (maybe with or plus donations),good for them and the readers(imo). It’s up to the reader to decide wether the quality is worth their time or money.

            • Rarely but steadily! Being originally an anime fan, I’m quite used to that 1 week wait between two episodes so I don’t mind waiting if it means good work and that’s what Bagelson provides, unlike them.

  34. Thank you Bagelson and all you other translators! You’re the saviors of us douluo dalu-kin fan girls 😀 I JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU THE BIGGEST HUG EVER!! x3

I did read DD nonstop from the first chapter til here – ok. I did pause to sleep. And to work. And for friends- BUT I am finally here, and finally managed to write a comment 😀
So this is devoted to the adorable work of you and your awesome team! I LOVE YOU ALL!

And thank you also that we can directly read the chapters.. and don’t have to read two freakin’ pages of ‘ ouuuh, the translation was so difficuuuult, but please look forward to it and DONAAATTEEE! (Money Money Money!)’
(Hey –> song idea up there, the line above. Sing…) before we can finally see the chapter’s start.

Some dude typed that he/she misses conversation from the translators, but I like it like it is.
It makes this page right for reading, seriously READING, and not transforming into an internet community for the lifeless zombiereaders.. who lost social contact.. long….. ago….. already…..
And search contact on novel pages. Did they even want to read in the first place…

Just WHAT is wrong with those hate comments… paid someone (who lacks creativity) to spam space with swearwords? That’s low. Cause the other possibilities consider only: you did the spam yourself, ‘ladies’, or, you told your readers to hate this page otherwise there won’t be a new cheapiddy-cheap quality made chapter…?
I really don’t mind the people reading the faster chap out first and this here second, but.. telling us to stop reading here? Not sorry, I didn’t even feel like starting reading at a page whose readers can’t even do conversation properly, even more, don’t even spell the swears they use correct.
    You made my day, idiots.

By the way- who can imagine Wu using the same kind of words as the people using her name for their page? Read: Xiao Wu quot: (put a randomly chosen hater’s comment here). FUNNY! 😀
    Or sad…
    No
    Funny
    Definitely 😀

Actually, reading something cannot be considered piracy: you don’t own anything here. By the way, if I’m not mistaken, there aren’t any rights on this novel so basically translating it isn’t a problem. If you were to translate a book that has already been translated by some editors then, it might be considered piracy.

I found a site that does machine translations FOR FREE and didn’t stop reading until I finished ALL of DD1 as well as ALL of DD2. Currently caught up to the Author TJSS HIMSELF has actually released in DD3. I do not reget going to another site to find what I enjoy. I will take whatever quality I can get as long as I’m challenged to think. I will pay money (and offered to before) for better reading quality. I started this storyline on this site and regardless if I’ve finished ALL that TJSS has wrote regarding the world of DD, I’ll STILL keep coming back to this site because I Love his writing style and love this story regardless how many times I read it. As a footnote I’d like to add that if you are enjoying this DD world as much as I am, then you will possibly find the free site I am currently reading DD3 MTL on your own because when you want something bad enough, search for it without the slander, oppression, foul language, or advertisement prompting from other readers. Honestly I only REALLY want to give cash or purchise from TJSS himself because without him I would not have a DD world to begin with. EVERYONE translating please pay homage to our heros that dream up the worlds we enjoy.
