A single source for a resource is always a bad idea. The enemy could always assassinate little Ao. It makes him a target. If he actually gets injured the army would be stranded. Establishing a supply line is the hardest part, as seen in this chapter. It wouldn’t be possible to sum one up after the fact. It’s much more foolproof to have Oscar as a backup~
For how much they talk about food spirit masters being essential for armies, though, you’d think that the Heaven Dou Empire would have a lot of them in their ranks. I mean, typically, they aren’t good for much else, right? Oscar’s the exception in that he actually has battle abilities. I would think all of the food system spirit masters would have sought employment in one of the empire’s armies.
Yeah, but throughout the story it consntly says how hard it is to cultivate a food spirit master, so even if Spirit Empire has them, they firstly wouldn’t have many since those that reach a level where they are useful is so few, and secondly wouldn’t be able to feed their own army as the lack of ranks and numbers is to great. I’m pretty sure the only other high level food spirit master we’ve seen was that teacher Dom Shrek

They aren’t directly under Xue Beng at the moment and Tang San even got them this way of protecting the supply lines so they wouldn’t be with the army. It might make the army’s life easier, but if Oscar was their source of food, that would mean he (and possibly the others) might have limited movement at certain moments, and they’re the group that wants to do whatever the heck the want to. The supply lines might actually have food spirit masters as well (we aren’t completely privy to what comprises the supply lines).
Still, during the time they had, if he went out of his way to keep on making food spirits, not only would it allow him to have a large amount stored when necessary, but it’d be extra training practice for him, since he doesn’t have experience creating so many…

I know the Shrek Seven Devils are trustworthy, but in a sense Oscar would be holding the entire army ransom… “If you don’t let me [x], I won’t give you my big sausage!” He wouldn’t go on strike like that, but he could! If anything happens to him at all, let alone enemy threat, it could destabilize the entire army.
The difference with Bibi Dong is that she can 100% protect herself. Even if she couldn’t, she is a much more valuable asset than Oscar!
I’m sure that the army does use a lot of food masters. I think their strength is more buffs and healing rather than field rations though… Having all those spirit masters exhausted from just feeding the army would reduce the overall combat capability and leave them prone to ambush too (right after meal time)!

The bulk of Heaven Duo’s army are normal cavalry and they hold the advantage in numbers but Spirit Hall has the absolute advantage in spirit masters.

For the supply line, it is more than just food. As they fight they will need to replace broken weapons, fresh water will be needed, not to mention a safe route for future reinforcements.
I say this is the best translation. The grammars fine, the plot’s there, and, not to mention, the updating speed! I can almost always rely on 1 chapter per week, but 3, wow. I can’t wait for action. Warfare’s often my favorite since there’s plenty of action. Keep it up!

We are currently at 276 chapter wise. The spoiler section inside of the google doc is up to 329 (or more accurately it stopped before mentioning another bout 330). So honestly said, if people can’t just enjoy the chapters provided they are free to go where-ever the fuck else they please.
There are only 60 chapters left. Who cares if the others catch up, which is highly unlikely. If Mr. Bagel continues at the pace he has for the last few weeks, he’ll be finished in July. Even if he slows down, having it finished by the end of the year is a likely outcome. You have to remember, the chapters for DD1 are HUGE. Compare the character counts to the next books and you’ll notice that every chapter of DD1 equals multiple of the future ones.

But they should also use him. Have him create a bunch of Sausages before hand…
Besides, his premade sausages would help the allies recover spirit power.
While the mass produced food won’t help higher level masters, for the majority of the Spirit Master’s and soldiers, it’d make a big difference.
And they know Oscar won’t do that. Tang San is the one with most of the power at the moment anyways…

I say this is the best translation. The grammars fine, the plot’s there, and, not to mention, the updating speed! I can almost always rely on 1 chapter per week, but 3, wow. I can’t wait for action. Warfare’s often my favorite since there’s plenty of action. Keep it up!

We are currently at 276 chapter wise. The spoiler section inside of the google doc is up to 329 (or more accurately it stopped before mentioning another bout 330). So honestly said, if people can’t just enjoy the chapters provided they are free to go where-ever the fuck else they please.

There are only 60 chapters left. Who cares if the others catch up, which is highly unlikely. If Mr. Bagel continues at the pace he has for the last few weeks, he’ll be finished in July. Even if he slows down, having it finished by the end of the year is a likely outcome. You have to remember, the chapters for DD1 are HUGE. Compare the character counts to the next books and you’ll notice that every chapter of DD1 equals multiple of the future ones.
