Did he just completely forget about the eight spider lances? I mean it seems they would have been useful at some point during this fight. I seem to recall them giving him an overall comprehensive boost in addition to other things.

Well its not as cheap as throwing sand to your enemy’s eyes when totally cornered so its not dirty at all and Bibi Dong didn’t drop her guard but just provided a move that fell to one’s deception. Straight up brawl might sound a bit heroic and right thing to do in fight but our MC is disadvantage here remember? so he might full the shit closer by some smart tricks up his sleeves
It’s not that Tang San was cheap, it’s the author who was cheap. Rather than working within the boundaries of the world they created they just changed the rules on the spot to make it easier for them to resolve things. It’s kinda standard operating procedure at this point.
Yes he hasn’t used this technique before, but only if you are talking about combining it with his Deathgod Domain, we have already seen him do it with his Blue Silver domain so he at least had a basis for how to do it

Also remember they are “spider” type bone, which may be affected/restricted by Bibi Dong’s two emperor level spirits.
