  1. Thanks for the chapter Bagelson 🙂

Hmm, I wonder if he’ll absorb 1 of the rings or all 3. When you consider how many spirit abilities he has for his blue silver emperor, it might be a good idea to focus on raw power for his clear sky hammer spirit rings; he does have a few abilities already, as well as the deathgod domain, disorder splitting wind hammer, the other 9 techniques, and the great sumeru hammer. And having all 3 rings one after another could make their strengthening effects much stronger too; like how he considered getting a second man faced demon spider before.

      • the great sumeru hammer technique relies more on strength based spirit rings to be stronger I believe

        Like

    • I would think all 3. Considering the brothers have shared the various queens they have eaten, I would think that there would be a benefit to having all 3 rings in one host, or all the power in one container so to speak

      • I think that he’s going to kill at least one and the other one eats the killed one to upgrade to a hundred thousand year beast.

        • He’s under a time constraint. He wants to complete his trials and become a god before Bibi Dong heals up and he needs 3 more rings to have 8 before he goes to take on the one million year old whale for his ninth ring. It’s faster to just take the 3 rings he’s presented with right now rather than let one eat another and become a hundred thousand year beast and then have to subsequently go hunt more beasts to get the missing rings.

          • Yeah but suposively having 2 100000 years spirit ring and therefore 2spirit bone is way better than having 3 90000 years spirit bones

            Like

            • He only needs a torso bone and if I recall correctly, Bo Saixi advised him to get it from the 1 million year old whale.

    • Plus with the new technique his dad taught him, he wouldn’t need to rely on separate skills but rather combining all of his rings together to fight.

i never thought id say it but i kind of dont like this level of recklessness all of a sudden. tang san actually went down a peg in my estimation.

this dude has been calm controlled, cool as a cucumber for 292 chapters, now suddenly “hey lets play around with not one, but three almost-hundred-thousand-year spirit beasts. cuz, you know. reasons.”

    • When I used to read the spoilers it was cool to see this part, but now reading how its actually playing out I can agree that this makes little sense.

The only logic I can apply here is that tang-san assumed they would be useful for training of some kind? But even then it doesn’t do a whole lot of sense since its 3 near 100k lvl spirit beasts and while they may not be super powerful in attack options they still have stupidly high defense for him to break and are also variants of the inital kind of ants they were.

      • Actually. Wouldnt square cube law simply mean that the 3m ants are just ‘that’ much stronger compared to their smaller relatives? I mean, in order to sustain that same exact exoskeletal structure, the improvements in the quality of its skeletons, muscles, etc must be way way more vs just the size difference?

        Like

        • My problem is that the Author suggested that their great strength originates from them being ants(+90k cultivation), when physics show that an enlarged ant to 5m wouldn’t be strong enough to even lift itself off the ground.

If we take their strength as fact, then that strength must be entirely due to their cultivation since their anatomy is actually crippling them.

          Like

          • Yes considering physics would cripple them, it must be entirely because of there cultivation that it is possible.

            Like

            • or, considering it’s a different world, how do you know the physics are exactly the same, how do you know the effect that spirit has on their body structure or whether the ants are identical to ours??

  4. Thanks for the chapter! I’m kinda curious, did Tang San ever receive a name when he reached past level 90? Don’t they received a title of sorts? Or is it only awarded by the spirit hall? But Tang Hao got his didn’t he? Yet he was already enemies with spirit hall when he reached level 90+ thanks to Ah Yin sacrifice…

    • The Big Bad Ant Brothers, to be exact. Slight difference there. Btw I feel that he already is pretty much as close to god level as possible, swinging around OVER 500 TONS OF FORCE, without even further expanding its power with spirit power and those divine skills he got the other day.

  7. Guys just leave this site now. Bagelson is shit and he thinks he is the only one that can translate so he is taking a snail pace on this with an excuse as this is a hobby. Other sites was showing face to him as he has been doing this for a while, but the PEOPLE had enough with this snail pace. Ready this here instead so you do not have to wait a snail pace.

    • F*ck off. You obviously don’t know quality translations. Bagelson is great but he has stuff to do also. He’s not concieted like you are faggot. Its not like he is a translating machine who can pump out chapter after chapter. Give the man credit. His translation tops that wuxiadream crap.

      Liked by 2 people

      • be that as it may, his unreliable release dates are a pain in the ass. there a re alot of people who would pay for a more stable release than that, and that is from a viepoint of a few years, basically since he started translating this novel. a patreon account is set up pretty fast, and for 100 bucks or more per chapter it would certainly be more effective than that “it’s a hobby crap”

        Like

        • How incredibly generous of you to offer to set up the Patreon account, find a Mandarin English translator of such high quality, pay said translator 100 bucks a chapter and then share the releases for the world to enjoy.

          We wait with bated breath.

          Liked by 1 person

          • If they weren’t already translating it (even if at this snail pace) a patreon would already exist for such a high quality novel. Saying we shouldn’t criticize them because they do it for free is a pretty dumb argument. they should at least write a word or two If they aren’t going to release a chapter when it’s expected. And in a professional field like translation they are taking work away from those who make a living out of it while forcing to accept a slower release speed because “they do it for free”

            Like

            • May I laugh? I am a professional translator. Just FYI. And I am actually just answering because of you somewhat ridiculous comment about “taking work away from people who make a living out of it”.

So let’s explain, why I had to laugh.
              1) “… in a professional field like translation…” What would you consider an “unprofessional field”? Art? There are many people who make a living out of that. And I haven’t heard anyone yet complain about hobby-artists taking money away from people who make a living out of art. For basically every field you could imagine, there are people who make a living out of it. And people who only do it as a hobby. You know, where the problem starts? When corporations find people who are willing to do stuff for free. When a job gets so devalued that everybody expects people to do it for free. And you know what? With your demands for stuff happening exactly as you want it to, you seem much closer to that mindset to me, than the people you are arguing with

2)You know, most professional translators don’t make a living out of unlicensed translations on the internet. Sure, there might be some who do… I must admit that I am not very well versed in the internet translation scene. Fact is that most people who make a living out of translating stuff get hired to do licensed translations. And you know what? The fact that there is a translation on the internet wouldn’t prevent a licensed translation from happening.

So basically your complaint boils down to “I want a group who accepts donations to take over this novel because than I can feel justified in demanding that they do what I want since I (or others) am paying them”.

              Liked by 4 people

              • Or, to put it more succinctly: if you want to feel righteous about professional translators making money then please stop reading internet translations altogether, okay? After all, asking for money for an unlicensed translation would be illegal in some countries, you know?

Also, Bagelson already stated when WuxiaDream picked it up, that he still intends to finnish it, … in his own pace. And thats OK.

Here’s the way something Bagelson translates would read:

I’m sure you guys have read other translated novels; from what I’ve seen, most translators, free or not, seem to do that much. I’m not saying that Bagelson has to. It’s his thing so he can do what he wants. But if he’s not going to stand on politeness, why do we have to?

    • Nobody’s upset with Bagelson for the things he does well. They’re upset with him for the things he doesn’t do well. Bagelson definitely has good translation skills, but there’s more to being a good translator than just that. I’ve been following this translation for years, like many people, I’m sure. I’m thankful to him for doing all this for free, but he’s been undeniably unreliable. He changes his release schedule on a whim, sometimes disappears for weeks, and rarely communicates with his readers. He’s built up a small community here of people who are mostly loyal and constantly praising him, but he doesn’t seem to show them much appreciation. Somehow we’re not supposed to complain because it’s impolite, but Bagelson isn’t particularly polite. It’s no surprise that people here get frustrated. I’m thankful to him because he allows me to read a good translation of one of my favorite novels, but I can’t help but think I would’ve been happier if a different, more reliable, high quality translator had picked this up and instead. I probably won’t read anything else he translates after this.

      Like

        • Why? Do I owe Bagelson some kind of loyalty for some reason? I’ve never heard him ask for it, nor do I really think he cares. Bagelson’s a good translator, and I fully understand why you might choose to support him. But personally I prefer a steady release schedule, and there’s lots of good translators out there more reliable than him. What’s wrong with acknowledging that if it’s true?

  12. So I’m definitely not going to read the wuxiadream translations because they make my head hurt and bagelsons writing makes it feel as though I’m reading a real story. However, what gets me about this is the lack of simple communication. Just a simple “sorry I won’t be posting this week” would go a long way, instead we’re left wondering if he’s even going to continue translating. I can’t imagine feeling so little for my audience that I couldn’t do a simple update on delays or timing, especially with the love that we all shower him with on every post.

Does copyright infringement mean anything to you. As far as bagels own translations until and unless he receives a cease and desist notice from the author or whoever holds the publishing and\or translation rights to Douluo Dalu he can do whatever he wishes with HIS OWN PERSONALLY TRANSLATED WORKS OF DOULUO DALU.

I don’t get why you people feel so invested in bagelcrap. This isn’t even his novel to begin with. He is just freeloading from the author and thinking he is all high and mighty. He doesn’t want to finish the novel because after the novel is done, people wouldn’t give a 2 cents shit about him.

    Like

    • Seriously are ur brain only but crap and mud haters (especially Lolzaurzzz)? First, the manga didn’t caught up at all. Second, even if it’s not his novel, he’s tranlating it with a fairly good english and for… how many? oh yes… for FREE.

What are you complaining for? When was he “all high and mighty” ever once? The only thing we could reproach him is his lack of communication, to say why he can’t upload a chapter or how long it’ll take for him to upload it. THAT’S FCKIN ALL!

You dumbasses haters are crying but still coming on his website to see his tranlations, but since u’re kind of junkies from his good work u can’t stand a late of a few days or a week. And you don’t even see it ahaha!

Then now stop complaining, if you can’t wait to see the end of this story just go on machine translation website like the one above and if it’s not enough, go read something else but don’t insult the translator or his work.

Just for information, He said a few weeks ago that he’ll finish this novel, and he’s gonna do it, be patient.

      • He’s (probably) translating it for free so he doesn’t have to commit to a schedule, and can thus disappear when he doesn’t feel like translating or is too busy.

With that said, I’ve seen several sites that do donation translations, work full time jobs, and still get 3-7 chapters out a week. Plus whatever bonus/donation limit they set for extra chapters.

However, those are generally 2-3k word works, and DD1 seems to be more like 5-6k words, and he’s doing all the editing and translating himself. So one chapter a week is reasonable.

It’d still be nice to know that there isn’t going to be a chapter one week, though.

In before people say to be grateful for what we get, I’m sure there are plenty of teams who would take up translating that are just as good at the job. Obviously it’s something he’s worked on for a long time, and you don’t want to give up work like that. But when you can’t dedicate time to doing something like you used to, you don’t hang on to it.

Other groups aren’t going to take it out of respect unless he gives it over, but he doesn’t seem to want to give it over because it’s a hobby he enjoys. Even if he said for a group to go ahead and work on it, and he would still translate it at his pace, they wouldn’t take it.

It’s a rock and a hard place, to be honest.

I lost track of where I was going with this, as well. Cheers.

They’re making clones and posting multiple comments trying to sh*t on how bagelson is bilingual when their shameless advertising of their (machine) translation site can’t even compare. Honestly disappointed in how someone could just try to steal an ongoing translation and then start flaming him on his own translation in how he stole from their (machine.. -_-) translation and even goes to the point where death threats are being sent to bagelson and his readers. It’s laughable at how their attempt to discredit bagelson is so pitiful and that they’re trying so hard. Sure it’s slow and he sometimes misses a release or two, but he really does release high quality translations of a great novel! I have plenty of other novels to read while I wait for his so it’s not bad at all!
