I just noticed… did the author mix up the spirit rings? Or rather, I am very confused by the paragraph detailing why the first spirit Ring of the Clear Sky Hammer is better than the final three of Blue Silver Grass. After all the final three are: the one gifted by the Seagod (presumably very high quality), the one from the orca (a formidable 100 000 year spirit beast, comparable to the Python and the Ape) and the one from the python (which has been stated as being even more powerful than the Ape). So… why the talk about the three ants in this paragraph? And why stating that the spirit ring is somehow more powerful? (After all, much of the difference was explained as the Clear Sky Hammer being the spirit this techinque was invented for)
I think the author means the first ring of the clear sky hammer is better for the great sumeru hammer technique; it’s a really forceful technique, so the hundred thousand year spirit ring from a spirit beast with incredible physical strength and raw power, is better for it than the last three on his blue silver emperor spirit
But doesn’t the orca also fit that description? After all it was statet that while the sharks were unmatched in regard to speed, the orcas were greatly superior in raw strengh. (And considering the abilities Tang San got from the orca that seems to be accurate…)
I think it has to do with the fact that spirit ring detonation is a technique made for the Clear Sky Hammer, so it synergizes better. When he was detonating his Blue Silver Emperor rings, he was using a Clear Sky Hammer technique, without the Clear Sky Hammer.
I believe earlier in the novel that the Titan Ape had been described as being able to contend with hundred thousand year beasts when it was just a ten thousand year beast. I think that is why his attack is so much stronger

I’ve personnally read that website’s translations and they’re really to bad for me to enjoy anything. I think Bagelson’s done an incredible work until now and he deserves all our support. If some consider these translations as they consider junk food, then they’re not worth the notice. Personnally, I have decided to reread the whole DD translation from the beginning: it’s a way to wait until new chapters are out. And just like you, I read DD2 and DD3 (well… I’ll read DD2 again from now on, as wuxiaworld has finally reached the level where Cookiepasta had dropped it).
I agree with Anonymous… The quality of your translations are really good. But dedication is also important.. If you really want to keep your followers, be more dedicated to your projects. It may be a hobby but at the least, hobbyists do it on a regular basis while yours seem to be sporadic or who knows how often.. You also need to be honest to yourself and to your followers. You need to do or follow through with your words/promises.. You even broke your promised once-a-week translation.. Keeping one’s word is important to most people..

Just for your information: I’m not Bagelson and I’m not involved in that novel’s translation as I can’t read a damn word in chinese (I only read french, portuguese, english, german and a bit of latin).

If you say so, try a website called wuxiadream and Bagelson has been keeping up with the weekly chapters until 2 weeks ago idk what is going on. And I’ve sampled the translations from that site and although you can make do with the translations of the dialogue the action is completely incomprehensible and hard to picture in the slightest.
Call me a cynic, but all these people asking for “that” website have only started to appear ever since “that” site lost 3 of its major novels to WW. It’s dying a slow, horrible death and just wish it would be taken down sooner rather than later …
It’s true… I went there just a few days ago to see if there was any activity… nothing! the last comment on the chatbox was more than a week ago. Last time Zilvane answered any question (or anyone from the website) was more than a month ago. Their last release was something like a month ago too… Their website’s having the fate it deserves: it’s dying. The guys didn’t understand that you can’t create a community and gather support if the only thing you do is try to steal from others! They defended themselves by saying it wasn’t forbidden… but they forgot that if they want to be respected, they first need to respect the others.
I just feel she has no right to be called a God on the same level as Tang San. While the God Class (I’m talking about tier, rank, quality) itself might be, she however is nowhere near being close to what his God level is.

You are in no way guaranteed to be able read a single Novel and be satisfied for the rest of your life. They will end eventually, so get into several if possible. In the event that Bagelson does not answer to our prayers we internally cry for his return. Then we seek out nay sayers who speak of false translating sites and shun them for theyre lack of appreciation for Bagelson.
I stopped reading this a while ago after deciding of spoiling myself the plot because I couldn’t bear tge wait, and to be fair I’ve never been happier of doubt it, while I’d like to remind that baegelson doesn’t owe anyone anything, not even a schedule or a notce, as he’s doing this for free and his own enjoyment, I would also like to point out that the readers don’t owe him anything either as he’s not doing this as a favor or something but because he likes it, so although I personally believe that the other site translation (i tried it to back then) has poor quality comparable if not worse than mtl, and that their diffamatory behaviour in order to adverts themselves was of poor taste and counterproductive, it is a reader right to choose them over baegelson, also keeping in mind that he doesn’t own the story and anyone willing should be able to translate it. And as a last question, why are you so sensitive for him? I personnally defend him out of respect for his work. You can say whatever you want about it but while he translates mainly for himself, absolutely nothing forces him to publish his translations online. and we’re all benefitting from these.
Like you said, anyone is free to choose and anyone can read their novels in whitchever website they wish. However, the people coming from that website forgot one thing: ethic! Instead of picking a novel that had been dropped by another team, they chose to pick a novel translated by one guy and tried to harass him to make him abandon his translation! They even made death threats against him and the admin of that website admitted publicly that he had used various identities to flood here during these “incidents” you related. I personnally read part of their work on Douluo Dalu and it’s horrifying how it’s bad! These guys simply edited MTL! They weren’t even translating it!
These guys didn’t have a single bit of respect for anyone and their main reason for poaching a doing whatever they did was simply: it isn’t forbidden so we can do it. The guys acted like scum so they attracted people like them, who left as soon as they came. I’m really happy to see their website on the point of dying miserably.

I think it’s about the way of doing so. Some feel like they’re owned something by Bagelson. I’ve personnally read a few comments about that already where people thought that Bagelson had some kind of obligation to come and communicate with them.
I think the whole problem is about how it’s said and not that people would like to have a bit more information.
It’s not an onligation. It’s simply rude if you skip a week without saying anything. It costs no effort. Bagelson not owing anything and him being rude are two different matters. Literally “sorry guys no chapter this week” and that’s it. No great effort

They’re better than machine translation, significantly inferior to Bagelson, but I can actually enjoy reading at dream unlike the eye bleed of machine translations.
I love Bagel’s work, and I still swing back here once a week to check for updates and read them as he gives them, but life in the Bagelson Sect checking every hour was killing my productivity. Completing the story elsewhere gave me the peace of mind to focus on other things in life.
Wuxiaworld has recently started licensing their works, and paying their translators. Although I really enjoy this work, and although it probably won’t happen, I really hope they pick this one up so that I can move on

Wuxiaworld won’t do that. Usually, they pick both translator and translation or they leave it. I don’t remind having heard of Wuxiaworld having poached projects. If they wished to do so, As they’re translating DD2 and DD3, I think they could have already done so long ago.
Well DD2 and DD3 both were officially dropped by their original translators which is why Wuxiaworld was able to pick them up and start re-translating them from the beginning.
For that reason WW will never pickup this one. Retranslating something near finish work is insane. Not to mention other site that most fanboy hate already finished this one. Why would WW want to pick this up? It makes no sense (different than DD2 or 3 where it was not even half-way done, AND nobody else did it)
I don’t think it’ll happen unless Bagelson asks to be taken by them. If it were to happen, I think they would already have asked him. And even by his side, I don’t know if it would be interesting: he’s almost done and by adhering to that, I think he’d have to abide by a certain schedule: I don’t think Bagelson would like it XD.
It’s a shame that there has been so much complaining,and even some desertion,and yet no one has asked if bagelson is ok. Well, he says he translates because he enjoys it and that he’s doing this for himself and no one else. If that’s the case I doubt he would have an issue with someone else translating it. If Wuxiaworld or anyone else picked this up, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t stop him from finishing this work, on his own site, in his own time.
Sounds like a fan boy to me. Yes, their initial translation was so bad, but they were getting better after 20 chapters or so (well, if you continue there from the last chapter here, it’s pretty decent one). Still not as good as Bagelson, but it’s acceptable to me rather than waiting. It’s clearly nowhere near machine translation that most fanboy claimed. Keep waiting.
Not a fanboy. I read their translation and couldn’t stand how they translated it… For an example, they kept mixing spirit bones and spirit rings, they even dared translate the names of some characters. They westernized some terms like when they called dudes sect presidents instead of sect masters, etc… It was very badly translated and the attitude of these guys was even worse than their translations. Fortunately, it seems they disappeared.
I’m about to cry yo, I thought for sure he would release it this week. But I hope the guy is okay and I really hope when he gets back he makes up for lost and drops a bunch of chapters.

No, DD2 is 10K years after DD1, DD3 is another 10K years after DD2. DD2.5 is in between 2&5, but don’t bother about 2.5, it’s crap and never fully translated.
DD2 on WW is still ongoing at very good rate. They decided to retranslate from zero though, so it took months to catch up to original one from cookiepasta, but it’s currently already a few chapters ahead.
So what is taking so long with the next translation, did u decide to take a break, could you please actually give us a notice when your not gonna be translating and an estimate on how long until u start again. Just give us some kind of notice so we don’t have to just check once a day or when ever we get online hoping to see the next DD chapter and get ,………………………………………………………………………….. NOTHING

Oh hell… sure we all have been waiting. There are loads to be said, but
ATM I’m mostly concerned about Bangelsons wellbeing. I could probably write a biblethick novel about the life here. Still it doesn’t matter if you release another chapter or not but at least for my part give us a sign if you’re well and never let that spark in your passion for this story to fade out.
Here’s my 2 cents on this, if you’re impatient and just want more chapters go read machine translated or other translations, I personally went and read machine translated when we got to sea gods island and was done with it but I still enjoy bagelsons translations to fill in details I might have missed.
Others who don’t want to sacrifice quality of bagel translations try starting DD2. The most they say about DD1 is how legendary Seven Shrek monsters were and how they won against spirit hall. (OMG how could you not tag spoilers in a novel with as many twists as this one the good guys might not win or something). Imo DD2 fleshes out the rules of the world a little better and mc has a goal right away instead of just training for training like Tang San does at the start. I would wait on DD3 though, I feel it has a more direct spoilers of dd2. Finally, Bagel has been slow translating for a while now but I’ve supported him in the past because of quality and consistency.Now however, month between chapters isn’t what I would call consistent.
Damn.. So close to the end… But only one chapter a week? Still going to be like 3/4ths of a year before this is done.. You guys should pick up the pace to 1 chapter a day like some other light novels. Could have the finale in a little over a month!! Better not actually be done translating but puposefully only putting out one a week to prolong things!! I really want to start the unrivaled tang sect but i want to finish this first!! My selfishness and self important priorites should always come first, after all.

I think it has to do with the fact that spirit ring detonation is a technique made for the Clear Sky Hammer, so it synergizes better. When he was detonating his Blue Silver Emperor rings, he was using a Clear Sky Hammer technique, without the Clear Sky Hammer.
I believe earlier in the novel that the Titan Ape had been described as being able to contend with hundred thousand year beasts when it was just a ten thousand year beast. I think that is why his attack is so much stronger

I followed you for years and while your translations are good i cant help but notice you lost a lot of followers due ro slow translations.
I actually stopped coming here myself when i realized it would take you a year to finish the last 80 chapters (at 1 or maybe 2 a weekend).
Started on d2 already. But just wanted to say thanks for getting me hooked into the series and thanks for the translations up until wuxia started doing it.
If you start up amother novel and do more than a chapter a week post it. Your translations are amazing.

I’ve personnally read that website’s translations and they’re really to bad for me to enjoy anything. I think Bagelson’s done an incredible work until now and he deserves all our support. If some consider these translations as they consider junk food, then they’re not worth the notice. Personnally, I have decided to reread the whole DD translation from the beginning: it’s a way to wait until new chapters are out. And just like you, I read DD2 and DD3 (well… I’ll read DD2 again from now on, as wuxiaworld has finally reached the level where Cookiepasta had dropped it).

I agree with Anonymous… The quality of your translations are really good. But dedication is also important.. If you really want to keep your followers, be more dedicated to your projects. It may be a hobby but at the least, hobbyists do it on a regular basis while yours seem to be sporadic or who knows how often.. You also need to be honest to yourself and to your followers. You need to do or follow through with your words/promises.. You even broke your promised once-a-week translation.. Keeping one’s word is important to most people..

If you say so, try a website called wuxiadream and Bagelson has been keeping up with the weekly chapters until 2 weeks ago idk what is going on. And I’ve sampled the translations from that site and although you can make do with the translations of the dialogue the action is completely incomprehensible and hard to picture in the slightest.

It’s true… I went there just a few days ago to see if there was any activity… nothing! the last comment on the chatbox was more than a week ago. Last time Zilvane answered any question (or anyone from the website) was more than a month ago. Their last release was something like a month ago too… Their website’s having the fate it deserves: it’s dying. The guys didn’t understand that you can’t create a community and gather support if the only thing you do is try to steal from others! They defended themselves by saying it wasn’t forbidden… but they forgot that if they want to be respected, they first need to respect the others.

Honestly, I have to agree with people that say “just read something while you wait” I mean I do the very same thing. You are in no way guaranteed to be able read a single Novel and be satisfied for the rest of your life. They will end eventually, so get into several if possible. I myself have several to entertain myself with at any time. But for anyone who disagrees, to each their own. I stopped reading this a while ago after deciding of spoiling myself the plot because I couldn’t bear tge wait, and to be fair I’ve never been happier of doubt it, while I’d like to remind that baegelson doesn’t owe anyone anything, not even a schedule or a notce, as he’s doing this for free and his own enjoyment, I would also like to point out that the readers don’t owe him anything either as he’s not doing this as a favor or something but because he likes it, so although I personally believe that the other site translation (i tried it to back then) has poor quality comparable if not worse than mtl, and that their diffamatory behaviour in order to adverts themselves was of poor taste and counterproductive, it is a reader right to choose them over baegelson, also keeping in mind that he doesn’t own the story and anyone willing should be able to translate it. And as a last question, why are you so sensitive for him? Why do you keep “protecting” him from “accuses and offenses” that are neither accuse nor offensive?(not referring to the other site accident, that particular one was pretty disgusting) Are you afraid he would quit translating? In that case you should remember that he doesn’t translate for your enjoyment but his. If there are any other reasons please explain them to me, because I’m extremely curios and a little confused.

I personnally defend him out of respect for his work. You can say whatever you want about it but while he translates mainly for himself, absolutely nothing forces him to publish his translations online. and we’re all benefitting from these.
Like you said, anyone is free to choose and anyone can read their novels in whitchever website they wish. However, the people coming from that website forgot one thing: ethic! Instead of picking a novel that had been dropped by another team, they chose to pick a novel translated by one guy and tried to harass him to make him abandon his translation! They even made death threats against him and the admin of that website admitted publicly that he had used various identities to flood here during these “incidents” you related. I personnally read part of their work on Douluo Dalu and it’s horrifying how it’s bad! These guys simply edited MTL! They weren’t even translating it!
These guys didn’t have a single bit of respect for anyone and their main reason for poaching a doing whatever they did was simply: it isn’t forbidden so we can do it. The guys acted like scum so they attracted people like them, who left as soon as they came. I’m really happy to see their website on the point of dying miserably.

I absolutely agree with what you said, as I’ve pointed out they have been disgusting, and their website dying miserably it’s just a consequence of their own actions and poor quality (to be fair that what’s i hope will happen to qidian too altough very unlikely, and even qidian behaved better than them) but what was i asking about, and that’s why i specified it, was about the over the top reaction some people had against other readers who complained against the lack of communication, of course as i said again baegelson has no obligation whatsoever to ever comunicate with fans but i don’t see why people expressing their disappointment about it should be a problem or offensive in any way

I think it’s about the way of doing so. Some feel like they’re owned something by Bagelson. I’ve personnally read a few comments about that already where people thought that Bagelson had some kind of obligation to come and communicate with them.
I think the whole problem is about how it’s said and not that people would like to have a bit more information.

Your point is that you assume there is a schedule, where nothing exists. And a 3 week hiatus might be something but it doesn’t mean he has to give us any explanation or whatever. They’re better than machine translation, significantly inferior to Bagelson, but I can actually enjoy reading at dream unlike the eye bleed of machine translations.
I love Bagel’s work, and I still swing back here once a week to check for updates and read them as he gives them, but life in the Bagelson Sect checking every hour was killing my productivity. Completing the story elsewhere gave me the peace of mind to focus on other things in life.

Well DD2 and DD3 both were officially dropped by their original translators which is why Wuxiaworld was able to pick them up and start re-translating them from the beginning.

I get that Bagelson owes us nothing and all but its just simple courtesy to a fanbase to make a post saying ‘no release this week’ or ‘no releases for xx weeks’. If he can’t take the minute or two out of his day to do so then I don’t see our obligation to stick to his translation. Its the internet, theres freedom to so wtf you want (provided you’re not breaking the law in your country) I personally don’t get why some people are offended by other translators picking up bagelsons work – if he cared so much he would communicate more. You can’t expect everyone to be content to wait for releases based on the whim on some guy who doesn’t owe us anything. I’m not saying everyone should abandon Bagelson, I’m just saying that I personally would be happy if someone more reliable picked up the translation. Sounds like a fan boy to me. Yes, their initial translation was so bad, but they were getting better after 20 chapters or so (well, if you continue there from the last chapter here, it’s pretty decent one). Still not as good as Bagelson, but it’s acceptable to me rather than waiting. It’s clearly nowhere near machine translation that most fanboy claimed. Keep waiting.

Not a fanboy. I read their translation and couldn’t stand how they translated it… For an example, they kept mixing spirit bones and spirit rings, they even dared translate the names of some characters. They westernized some terms like when they called dudes sect presidents instead of sect masters, etc… It was very badly translated and the attitude of these guys was even worse than their translations. Fortunately, it seems they disappeared.

No, DD2 is 10K years after DD1, DD3 is another 10K years after DD2. DD2.5 is in between 2&5, but don’t bother about 2.5, it’s crap and never fully translated.
DD2 on WW is still ongoing at very good rate. They decided to retranslate from zero though, so it took months to catch up to original one from cookiepasta, but it’s currently already a few chapters ahead.

Here’s my 2 cents on this, if you’re impatient and just want more chapters go read machine translated or other translations, I personally went and read machine translated when we got to sea gods island and was done with it but I still enjoy bagelsons translations to fill in details I might have missed.
Others who don’t want to sacrifice quality of bagel translations try starting DD2. The most they say about DD1 is how legendary Seven Shrek monsters were and how they won against spirit hall. (OMG how could you not tag spoilers in a novel with as many twists as this one the good guys might not win or something). Imo DD2 fleshes out the rules of the world a little better and mc has a goal right away instead of just training for training like Tang San does at the start. I would wait on DD3 though, I feel it has a more direct spoilers of dd2. Finally, Bagel has been slow translating for a while now but I’ve supported him in the past because of quality and consistency.Now however, month between chapters isn’t what I would call consistent.

Damn.. So close to the end… But only one chapter a week? Still going to be like 3/4ths of a year before this is done.. You guys should pick up the pace to 1 chapter a day like some other light novels. Could have the finale in a little over a month!! Better not actually be done translating but puposefully only putting out one a week to prolong things!! I really want to start the unrivaled tang sect but i want to finish this first!! My selfishness and self important priorites should always come first, after all.
