Brothers, while cultivating our virtues I found some nice novel to read aside from DESOLATE ERA, I found MARTIAL GOD ASURA also a similar and so much interesting story with the same genre like “trash character” but a totally bad ass as the sequel goes… It had yet no manga and what’s more, releases not less than 2 chapters everyday (except saturday and sundays) and sometimes 3 or 4!!!! Nearly 300 chapters now. The real Hot and very intense actions start i think at chapter 60 there will you see how the young MC’s from trash to being a bad-ass.. Try I Shall Seal the Heavens too I’m really loving the main char ^^ if you mess with him he makes you suffer a hundred times what you dealt him, I haven’t read Desolate Era yet but it’s on my list ^^.

i wouldn’t recommend desolate era. cause i lost interest half way near to that mine arc. yeah ISSTH is one of the best novels there i at the moment. gets really good at a later stage. the power and action is a little strange though.

I got to book 17, but I dropped Desolate Era when IET made Yu Wei a spy. That plus the trick the youngflame clan pulled on him and his parent’s deaths was too much for me. I really enjoyed it before all that, though.

If you haven’t read “World of Cultivation” I would recommend it as well. The translator releases 1 chapter every day. There are a total of 950ish chapters and as of 11/28/16 442 have been released. I absolutely love the characters. I’m going to have to try out these others you’ve mentioned. Thanks for the list.

For Peerless Martial God, nobody complains about how different the worlds are since all the novels are kinda the same in that regard.
People complain cause the novel just repeats itself over and over with the plot… and it’s not like other novels that just repeat a plot from an arc, but the story basically repeats almost every moment.
MC finds treasure/technique, people want to kill him for no reason, he gets friendly with a girl, he kills people and everyone is shocked…. rinse and repeat….
And every person in the world is some sort of shameless coward without any self respect and the MC is this absolute moral being that does no wrong….
Now, I get that these are common tropes in all these kinda Chinese novels, but the author repeats them more than others.
The advantage of the series is that the stuff going on is interesting and as such, one could keep on reading it…
But the flaws are so overly obvious that one can’t help but complain about it.
Just cause we call something that’s being done really badly as being done badly, we aren’t being hypocrites
You aren’t even understanding why people seem to be against the novel and yet say they don’t understand the setting when it’s one of the most common settings used in Chinese novels. So which person is being hypocritical?
The way everyone seems to be overly shameless and lacking in common sense is done clearly just to make the MC look good…
It’s to the point that even if you miss 100 chapters, you won’t be lost cause you could kinda guess what happened…..

I freaking LOVE ISSTH. It, Douluo Dalu, and Coiling Dragon are my three all-time favorite xianxia novels.

Douluo Dalu has the best characters by far, while ISSTH and Coiling Dragon are written on an immense scale and have interesting power systems. ISSTH has a better world, though, while Coiling Dragon has a more interesting power system with the Profound Mysteries.

I’d give best characters to “Way of Choices” or “ZTJ”
The characters are flawed and less Gary-stu/Mary-sue and it’s done in a better way.
The MC does stupid things, but it’s done cause he’s a youth and his pride forces him to act that way.
There are brats that are hating him cause he’s their elder brother’s love rival and while they don’t hate him hate him, they have beef with him, even when they get along.
His allies are often a bit foolish cause of their youth, and when the people go against the MC, they get called out for going too far. When the person that went too far was a little girl, people didn’t give her special treatment cause of status or thinking she was better than everyone, but just thought older youth’s shouldn’t retaliate badly towards such a child.
While shameless politicians and adults also exist, they also seem more complex rather than just straight forward idiots…

the Sky in its name isnt describing the shade of blue but written like that it does sound like it. The first Chinese character in the name can mean sky or heaven and the second character is azure(or blue-green its a bit vague) so you get Sky Azure Bull Python.

Yeah, the manga is not worth it. Not only did they change major characters personalities and even genders, but even main character goes from a badass to a weaker person. Not worth it. The manga is way off the novel, and is shit.

totally agree with you both, i just read it, and it freaking sucks. Please ignore my post. The main character is so weak and he barely makes a good impression and he looks so weak, nothing like the strong, able person linley is in the novel. Even bebe turned all cute and stuff when he is supposed to look like a rat!

We release chapters whenever they’re done, which is largely controlled by external circumstances. So far that’s been one to six chapters per week.

that is actually quite amazing!!! these chapters are way bigger than all the other novels i’ve read and even such novels only update 1-2 chapters max per week ….. dont know how you guys are doing it, but my hats off to you for such an amazing job 🙂

in one of the first chapters his father said, that he should never cultivate his 2nd spirit. but later tang san said, that a tool spirit can take all spirits to cultivate. so perhaps he must share his rings between the spirits, or his strength isn’t enough to use the 2nd spirits abilities. (he couldnt hold his spirits in the first chapters and later he could only use 3 strikes to forge something).

2. While i was looking for the manga version online, i found a manga called Douluo Dalu II. There was only one chapter but it seemed to be a sequel. Was there a light novel version of that, or was it exclusively a manga?
