Flame… Shadow? I… The concept of a shadow made of flame, or a shadow cast by a flame, either one baffles me. This was a cool chapter and all, but I spent the time trying to parse the idea of a flame shadow…
The point here is to not take it too literally, shadow here is more like a clone representing you just as your shadow does, so think of it as basically being closer to meaning a flame clone in english.
